    Another Richard Justice Q&A....

Question: I have heard that Derek Fisher also wants to come play in Houston. Is that a possibility? Also Troy Hudson is also a free agent, would the Rockets be better off with Hudson? Is T-Mac worth Mobley and Francis? One last concern is our bench! What are the Rockets doing to improve their bench?

Answer: I personally think Derek Fisher is a longshot just because he might be good enough to get a maxed out deal. I agree he'd be a terrific addition. I think the trade is a good one because in Yao and McGrady you have a really tough inside-outside combination to defend. Now the job is to fill in around them. The bench still needs work. It's probably won't all be completed in one offseason.

Justice as no idea what he is talking about, no idea.

"Fisher might be good enough for a max deal?"

Richard Justice is so completely full of crap. Fisher is NO WAY going to get the max from anybody. Man, somebody get some new columnists for the Chron...stat.

Is Justice even qualified to be discussing this issue?

    A. He's a baseball writer...
    B. He writes for the Houston Chronicle...

It's the same guy who thought we got Clearance Weatherspoon in the offseason a few months ago, you'd think they'd have someone look over the article before he posts things like that. Some sort of moron checker...

Wasn't there an article a few weeks ago saying we shouldn't get excited about getting McGrady? I never listen to the Chronicle. They blow chunks. They never pump up the right things and seem to be weeks behind on the important issues.

Justice will be on Lance and John's show at 8am tomorrow like every week. The guy is such a friggin' name dropper. "Well, when Willie Mays and I were sitting on his porch talking about the good ol' days..."

I have no idea how this guy went from a beat reporter to answering questions and writing columns about the Rockets. He is less qualified to do that than about 1/3 of the posters on this board.

A maxed out deal for Fisher? That statement should be a reason to fire this columnist. 95 % of the people here on the BBS would know better than to make a dumb statement like that.

Um, even calling him that is a stretch. I could do a better job answering fan questions than him.

Case in point: One fan wrote in about Bagwell. At the end of each inning, as Bagwell heads to the dugout, someone throws him a ball. The fan wanted to know why. Justice had no clue, but promised to find out and report back. He never did.

Um, RJ, Bagwell is a 1st baseman, and he warms up the infielders before each inning. All 1st baseman put a ball in their glove for this purpose. Some do it as they walk out the dugout, some do it as they walk in, like Bagwell.

    Let me get this straight....

Fisher opts out of his contract and states that Houston is a very good possible destination.

From that Justice says that Fisher is not coming here because he is going to get max $$$.

    Unbelievable!!

wow...Justice is really on a role...

Chris Burke should be playing 2B for the 'stros instead of Jeff freaking Kent

Bagwell has been disgraced by being moved to the 5 hole in the lineup

and Derek Fisher is a max contract player.

    Great work, Richard.

This guy isn't too bright, obviously. While I don't wanna defend him, I think maybe what he COULD have meant was that Fisher will get a contract for as much as he's possibly worth and not take less money to come to the Rockets. Big maybe

Then, at the very least, he does not even know the terminology, which is embarrassing - it's his JOB! Like a doctor confusing heart and lung, fortunately with less severe consequences!!!!

I was thinking something similar. Like, maybe he meant Fisher would command the whole Mid-Level Exception. So the Rockets wouldn't be able to split the MLE between 2 players and so wouldn't want him.

Just doing my best to make sense from nonsense. It is sad you have to do that with the newspaper.

One time, when Ernest Hemingway and I were sitting in his jacuzzi and I was picking the bugs out of his fur and eating them, he told me he had very little respect for sportswriters and that Richard Justice was one of the reasons why.
