A paraphrase from Larry Coon's CBA FAQ's: "Incentives count as team salary (against the cap) if they are "likely to be achieved." They do not count if they are not likely to be achieved. The league office determines what is likely and what is not. Their general guideline is whether the criteria was achieved in the previous year." OK, Mr. Olajuwon.....here's a contract for $7.2M. Give us 2,050 regular season minutes on the floor (25/game) and we'll bump you 25% to $9.0M at the end of the season. Since Dream hasn't topped 1,740 in 4 years, I believe the league uses 7.2m. With the extra $1.8M we can probably sign Mo T, SA, Bull, and bump Moochie (we're allowed over the cap with Moochie signing last). With the extra $1.8M, sign Sabonis for 15 min/game. If SA can't be fit in capwise, use the extra $ for Marc Jackson or Nazr Mohammed. The league would have to approve it before Dream signed it, but it has alot of plusses. ------------------ Raef to Rocks in '01-'02!
Incentive contract sounds good but Sabonis just is not needed. Id rather cross my fingers a let Cato get some confidence than sign Sabonis. Dont get me wrong, he can play but he just doesnt fit in with a mediocre team like our Rockets. ------------------ "banging Shaq is a whole different expirience"-Pete Babcock Behold the power of quotation
I agree with you Ziggy,Sabonis would be a better fit on a stronger team, but Cato doesn't fit on the Rockets either. We should look at players like Marc Jackson and Nazr Mohammed to add to our team because they work hard on the court and could become good backup centers. ------------------
Incentive contract sounds great. This is the only fair way for the Rockets. ------------------ "Instinctly u recognize things, now take advantage of what u just recognized!".. Hakeem..
