Westbrook is a interesting case though. He possess some skills, but clearly refuses to play only to his strengths. Or possibly you just can’t get his strengths without also taking the weaknesses.

He is probably the biggest negative in the league if he doesn’t have the ball.

And even when he has the ball he has proven to be highly mistake prone and extremely trigger happy as one of the least efficient guys in the league.

He is a big negative on defense.

What is the goal of the team that pays Westbrook to play for them? A guy who is god awful without the ball and pretty bad with it. He has yet to prove he has any interest in taking a big step back in role on an NBA team despite the crappy results.

I guess I won’t be surprised if someone pays him more than vet minimum. I will be surprised if his level of play and impact ever actually reaches the level of someone worth more than the vet min.

I think the word people need to associate with Westbrook is. . . . Uncoachable
He simply won't follow the plan
He is gonna do what HE WANTS TO DO
    Regardless of the team scheme

Funny how the Lakers still say that when AD comes back, they still can contend. LOL.

They have gutted the depth of the team replacing them with Westbrook and some retirement home residence like Melo and Ariza (not to mention Dwight). Banking on AD's fragile health is just a desperate reach. If they don't bench Westbrook, they can kiss playoffs goodbye whether AD comes back in time or not.

Just came back from visiting Lakers nation. Man, those guys don't know how to deal with losing.

Still no humble pie to found though.

“Russ will be able to carry the load when Bron and AD sit”

“Can’t wait to see Lebron get farther with Westbrook than Harden could”

“Westbrook carried the Wiz to the playoffs(no he didn’t), he will help LA”

    A load of ****, sure.

    Further to elimination.

He is helping to take the Lakers exactly where I wanted them to go. THX Russ!

Lakers: Russell Westbrook Appeared to Try To Trip Reggie Jackson in Loss

The already high frustration between Lakers fans and Westbrook only made this a worse look for him. Players tripping other guys in the NBA is not seen as a good move, obviously.

    His own worst enemy.

Noise will continue until Harden wins one.

Then the narrative will shift to nitpicky stuff like if Embid wins finals MVP or some other garbage

Marc Stein Claims It's "Impossible" For Russell Westbrook To Return To Lakers Next Season

However, it seems as though Russell Westbrook is opposed to changing his role on the team. NBA insider Marc Stein has recently stated that "there has been no shortage of defiance" from Russell Westbrook "when coaches and teammates have tried to broach changes in role or approach" with him. It seems as though there is also "tension" in the locker room

    https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-media...ell-westbrook-to-return-to-lakers-next-season

A demise of his own making.

Why be so rigid and inflexible?
    Immaturity?
Has to be right? (as in his claim his natural style of play can win championships so why should he be the one to change?)

One thing seems to becoming clear, next year he will either not be playing (traded to Houston) or bought out and claimed by a bottom feeder hoping to sell more tickets.

Or perhaps another team that thinks it can make WB play well for them? Is there another GM out there that stupid?

I think Russ needs to hit rock bottom first before being able to accept a new lesser role off the bench. Like when Dwight Howard was bouncing team to team and then nobody wanted him as a starter anymore. Or when Melo was told by Morey to GTFO and no other team wanted him that season.
