If he ever becomes really good you can always sell it on EBAY or be the only one with a Rockets Boki Jersey if he is traded which i am hoping he isn't.
I've noticed, on flashes of good play, assumptions and that magic word potential... Not like I'm against him becoming a good player, but I won't hold my breath on it...
Hell yeah! That was awesome! My 6 year son and I had awesome seats for that game, Mid Court 4th Row and 5 seats from George Postolos, the CEO of the Rockets. I will never forget that play I hate Karla with a passion. Boki must stay. Didn't Doc say that Boki has been working out everyday at the Toyota Center.
Boki has some value as kind of comic relief that you really want to do well and cheer for. He doesn't match the comic relief sentimental novelty appeal of say a Granville Waiters. But at the same time he has more real value on the court, but not overly valuable. Certainly not as valuable as Kelvin Cato. If we had to trade either Boki or Cato, I would want to trade Boki.
But it's hard to base this because Boki hasn't had time to play. Before this year everyone was moaning about Cato and saying how bad he is and trying to get rid of him. This year came around and he showed up to play. I believe Boki will do the same this year being his last under contract and finally having room to play.
Boki hasn't had time, because he hasn't earned the time. I saw him play in the summer league. He stunk it up against the summer league. He's not going to sit on the bench if he's the next Vince Carter.
Never said that he is the next Vince Carter. BUt i really believe that under the 2 systems he has been in there hasn't been room for him to get on the court and make mistakes and get better at the NBA level. I know he stunk it up in the Summer league but he did break out in the last game for 30 points if i remember correctly. He did show signs of being a good player in this league by how he showed up int he playoffs. I just believe for someone who is not that big a hit in the cap and being that it's his last year under contract it's not that big of a gamble to keep the guy and let him show his stuff. If he sucks then we don't resign him. If he shows promise i am sure we keep him for cheap or excercise his option if he has one.
I just saw ESPNEWS and the trade does not mention Boki, this is good news for me cuz I don't want Nachbar traded. Anyone else saw this on ESPNEWS?
My comment was somewhat sarcastic. I find it funny that so many people would nix the TMac trade over him, but his stock rose a great deal with me too over that play.
I won't say "Don't trade Boki", but I will say that is the only player the Rockets are losing in this trade that I wish they could've found a way to keep. I would hate to think we just traded away the next Stojakovic without really ever giving the guy a chance. He may not become Stojakovic, but I think he could become a very strong role player.
