Pat Williams talked on radio and said although there are other offers from other teams, they are not as good as Rox offer, so it is either Houston or they will keep Tmac. He also said in no situation they will tolerate loosing Tmac for nothing next year. It seems we are making the best offer and Tmac is very clear about only wanting to play for Rox. Maybe we can lowball magic a bit more. What do you guys think? I will be happy with the trade as it is.
depends on who's actually in it. I'd prefer not to lose Nachbar, but that's not a dealkiller. If it's: Cato Francis Mobley for TMac Howard Gaines and either Lue or Declerq I would be pretty happy. I guess the rockets could push for both Lue and Declerq, but as people have pointed out, we're supposed to be the ones giving up depth for a superstar, so I wouldn't expect that to happen.
Dont screw it up at this point. Think long term here. Just get McGrady on the team and let's go from there. PERIOD!
Just hope that McGrady can last the Long term with his back problems. Remember so many players have gone out because of back problems. Just hope his is not that serious.
I wouldn't push it. I was listening to some fox radio station out of Chicago on the way home from work tonight and they were talking about this trade. They couldn't believe we were getting TMac for "only" Francis, Mobley and Cato. I think their point was that TMac is in a tier of ability and potential far higher than that of Stevie. This is a tier of player that many in Chicago know very well.
Quite frankly, I think we're already low balling them and I've read articles where sports writers think the Magic are already getting thoroughly screwed. I think it's somewhat fair but only considering the circumstances. If T-Mac didn't plan to leave them high and dry, this deal would never go down.
that is what I would like to try. Magic really has no plan B to fall back to. Pacers, Suns, Clippers are all lowballing them. Say we ask a bit more, what are they going to do? I don't believe they will keep Tmac and risk loosing him for nothing. As I heard, Pacers took Artest off the offer, Suns offered Marion plus #7. These are no where close to our offer.
