Of the "premium" additions to your chips and salsa, which do you prefer and why. Bonus points for stating your favorite to get at a restaurant.
Queso is mixable with salsa, but give no illusion of healthiness to an already heavy TexMex meal. I usually skip both or load it up if I get fajitas or tacos.
i'm fine with both. i generally don't like a avocados tho. will defer to our expert of mexico @SwoLy-D
I like queso as an app and guac with my food. Of course, you can get crazy with your queso (meat/beans/guac) and basically make it a meal. Queso fundido is also excellent as a meal (had one years ago at El Tiempo with shrimp and lump crab that was just ridiculous). Speaking of ridiculous (but understandable), I love that they charge $5-8 for ~$1 of queso ingredients. Makes up for all the free chips and salsa. We all know it, and we all accept it.
You're probably not going to eat an entire bowl of guac. You will always eat an entire bowl of queso.
Absolutely no contest -- definitely guac every time. Homemade guacamole is the best. I like it super chunky.
BS!! I have eaten entire bowls of guac... most recently during the superbowl. (I am very passionate about guacamole)
with food on a plate its guac. For appetizers its chips with queso It's hard to stop eating chips with queso. If you get fried homemade tortilla chips and guac, then it's over, that wins
