Execute kids who have no idea why they are there and don't support the invasion.

That is not how you win hearts and minds.

True, but you have to get rid of them, somewhere, and not to where they come back and fight you, maybe you set up a POW camp in another country?

if this map is accurate, Russia has control of the entire Sea of Azov coastline.

You gotta admire the hardcore Putinists still in the GOP @basso - can't wait to see what committees they're in line for in the fall.

Yes. This war is still less than a week old. It takes time for sanctions to take effect. I really wish that Russia would lose and Ukrainians wouldn't be dying but rushing in militarily isn't going to be easy and could potentially lead to much worse.

Just trying to make some humor out of a serious topic. Don't know enough about any of this to really offer input so mostly just been reading opinions.

Because sanctions have only recently been put in place and it takes time even to get an air war going.
This isn't a movie or a video game. The truth is none of us know what resources there are that the Russians have or really for sure what the US and NATO has. What we should remember is even in conflicts where we've built up for months mistakes get made. Ukraine is Russia's neighborhood we don't know even know for sure what targets to hit and the battlefield is changing. Ukraine might still fall, or else it might end up being a horror of protracted battlefields that we haven't seen since Flanders' Fields.

Also right now there is no political will to use the military. Notice last night during the SOTU no one booed when Biden said we aren't sending US troops. As far as I'm aware there is no move in Congress to demand US troops. This country is just got out of our longest war ever and there is little appetite to start seeing troops fighting and dying in another one.

Again we are gambling with lives of our troops, Russians, Ukrainians and potentially most of the World. None of that should be rushed into or taken lightly.

I will remind everyone a lesson that we should know well by now.

There is no such thing as a clean war. There is no such thing as a precise war.

It's not just about defending Ukraine it's about stopping this type of aggression before it takes root.

You also need to understand the stakes if this is not confronted now it will have to be confronted later just look at Hitler and the history of appeasement.

What about all the Ukrainian civilians being killed now?
