Vescey's not mentioning Cato. Take that as you will. The Cato part or the Vescey part.

Cue the vecsey bashing, especially after calling Nachbar a "throw in"!!!

    ;)

Anyway, I thought this sentence made it all worth it:

    :D

I actually like that deal better. Small fowards are easier to find than good back up centers and power fowards.

If we keep cato, we still have our defense in tack plus an added scorer. Man, I can't wait for the season to start.

I don't even think that deal would work with the cap. I think Cato has to be in the deal for it to work.

I like the deal better as well for the same reasons. Looks like the salaries, if correct, match up.

Well the way its financially broken down, it makes sense that Cato doesnt need to be involved in that trade.

People with connections within the organization have confirmed the players involved: Francis, Mobley, and Cato. See the Doc Rocket thread, and Nachbar isn't involved. Also, it looks like Reece Gaines is part of the deal.

If it were true(and according to this realgm link) that means the deal could be done before Francis' BYC status is up?

That all confuses the hell out of me .. I'll just wait for something to actually happen .. haha

Gaines isn't even mentioned in that deal. I was under the impression that Lue was protected. Why would it be necessary to see the outcome of the expansion draft then?

I don't think the salaries match up if Lue and Gaines are both included but Cato isn't. I have to agree with Jeff on this one.

Check out the disclaimer at the bottom.

The trade checker doesn't factor in BYC stuff, but does mention that the "Trade accepted" is contingent upon BYC status.

I'm usually the first one to say that Vecsey is full of it. He does list the salaries of all players involved; our end would approach $20 million; T-Mac and Howard and Lue reach 20 million as well.

    Steve/Cat/Cato = approximately 25 million.

So, cap-wise, what Vecsey states makes sense. BUT, if Reece Gaines is thrown in, and Cato rather than Boki, well, then the 15% over/under should be covered OK.

I agree that Vescey is usually full of it, but his columns are usually hilarious, and fun reads. Of course, so are supermarket tabloids.
