More important than SWIFT, it seems like the central bank freeze has the potential to absolutely crush the Russian economy. Sounds like the world is basically just freezing $300B+ of Russia's money, and it's going to cause an unprecedented crash in the Ruble tomorrow. If so, Russia's ability to pay its military and keep things functioning is going to degrade rapidly - it almost feels like Ukraine just needs to hold on for another week or so and the tables might actually turn, which seemed virtually unbelievable a few days ago. If so, all credit to the US, Canada, and EU for actually uniting on real, legitimate economic measures - I think I posted in January that I thought sanctions were a joke and wouldn't impact Russia at all in the big picture, but SWIFT and Central Bank freezes are a whole different animal and a willingness of the world to actually hit back hard.

P.S. - Mojoman, be aware that this may impact Russia's continued ability to pay you to regurgitate their propaganda going forward.

Maybe, not exactly a WW2 buff, but my gut feeling is that push would probably be mostly Americans and troop morale would be low to continue a war after defeating the main baddies. Europeans would be eager to start rebuilding their destroyed cities. We also would be busy rebuilding Japan.

Also not certain even if the allies did overthrow Stalin, that history would play out as some utopia

Well apparently we have given them some real good missile systems or anti Aircraft missiles as well as anti-tank.....

Mobile ones in a single person's hands are really hard to defend against.

    Hard to survive bank runs.

Agreed on the timing...the longer this goes on, the more disastrous it is for Russia.

Protest in Moscow looks huge, but it might be a line for the bank.

This is what we need if the others see the country has turned on Putin, they might be willing to take matters into their own hands, in particular the military.

Did you catch the look the generals had when he ordered them to stand ready with nukes? They did not look confident in the man's moves.

True, given Ukraine's asking for volunteers from other nations to come and fight. I bet there might be a couple of pilots to fly those planes. Wouldn't surprise me

Actually like Costco vodka very clean taste. 5 times distilled. I actually like it better than grey goose. The French know how to make a great vodka
