With this new trade (if it goes through), will it bring fans to the games?

I wonder if McGrady can attract more fans than Francis.

Everytime a big trade goes down, it causes excitement with the city. No matter who we trade for.. Iverson, T-Mac, whoever... it will bring fans to the games. Everybody is just eager to see something new and excited about what kind of team we have become. If so happens we don't make the playoffs again this year (knock on wood), then it'll be the same as when Steve Francis was here. To me, Steve and T-Mac are on the same level as in bringing fans to games... but I would say Yao brings more fans to the games than either one of them.

101% it will attract more people to the arena. All the bandwagan fans in houston are sure to com outa there wholes and see the new guy break som1s ankles. I for one will buy a mini pack and so are all of my friends, but thats nothing new we allways do...

If the rockets win, they will attract fans. If not, they won't.

That's the way it is in Houston.

It will bring the fans. Winning is what keeps them there.

I upgraded my season ticket package this morning.

    Does that count?

I thought when Yao got here there would be plenty of sell outs, then I saw alot of empty seats, winning is the only way to keep them here.

I think this will help in the short run...This will only work in the long term if the Rockets blow the competition away...Everyone loves a winner and it looks like we should be on our way...

Did Roger Clemens bring fans to Astros games?

    Same thing with TMac.

I don't think you can compare the two. Im not saying that TMac wont bring in more fans, but I highly doubt it will have the effect that Roger had. Roger was a local legend and future HOFer.

Tmac is arguably the best player in the NBA.

    I think it compares.

That's the way it is in 90% of the cities out there.

everyone is talking about how good of a trade this is for the Rockets but it is probably an even better for the Magic. The Magic are looking at a potential line up of Francis, Mobley, Gooden, Cato for 4 of the starting 5 . They will be going fromt he worst team in the league to a playoff contender in the East. The Magic should be very pleased with this trade. But im glad we have new blood and someone to take the burden off Yao.

And after last season, Roger was no where near close the best player in MLB. He was a home town hero and future HOFer. Thats why we are selling out his starts.

If the Rockets sell out because of TMac, it will be because of his talent and it translating into wins. The Rockets won't sell out just cause people want to see TMac. Houston Rocket fans have never been that way.

We are selling out more than just his starts, and my contention is that fans will embrace Tmac in the same manner and more will come to the arena, especially if the Rockets display smart team oriented ball.
