He wanted them to trade Westbrook+ 2nd...Rockets wanted a 1st, but probably should have just taken the free 2nd (without adding Wood and THT)

No, taking Westbrook requires a first round pick.
A 2nd round pick would have been a loss.

Rockets are not in the league with the sole purpose of bailing out the
Lakers from their screw ups. They should have taken the Buddy Heild trade
instead of the Westbrook deal to start the season.

Agreed. Why would we want to help the Lakers unless we get something good in return for the trouble? A second round pick doesn't cut it.

LeBron might have turned Wall into something.

That 2nd round pick could have been pick #55 to #60.

Yeah, put us (Rockets) with the other 28 teams that were
not dying to get in that pool....not for Westbrook.

Oh yeah Cp3 really showed me by winning rings with OKC and PHX...oh wait :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Remember when you made that epic rsnt only for Cp3 to choke in the Finals?

    Sad!

But dont worry if you keep making these posts calling me out yr after year maybe someday you'll finally be right when eventually Cp3 gets that ring. Its only been 3 times you got egg on your face.

Wood and Davis front court would be like soft and softer.

With Davis out for a month, that pick could be pushing top 10 territory. We should have pushed for that trade a little harder.
At this point, the Lakers should probably keep that pick and have a sell-off this summer. They’ve dug themselves too big of a hole.

It is a tug of war, both sides want to get something in return.....probably ends up in a win win or nothing.

Makes me nervous to have the eye of Silver with so much reliance on the ping pong balls.

I would hate to be punished for this.

Only a 2RP would be meh and not worth the headache of dealing with fridging Westbrook.

I think in the offseason this deal becomes even more lucrative for us because of the LBJ factor. He is pissed. He will demand this. It all goes back to Klutch. We get the 2027 1st. Reports have already surfaced about LBJ and Cleveland which is BS but that was put out there for a reason. LBJ is not leaving LA and his time is dwindling. Another wasted year. Russ is cancer for the Lakers and AT BEST will get a poo poo platter. Perfect for us. We get the 2027 1st and then flip him for a poo poo platter that is digestable or we do a buyout deal. Russ will want to stay in LA and play for Clippers. He will not want to get shipped where we send him. There is a lot of flexibility for us that wasn't here at the trade deadline. Both guys are reupping but both are now expiring. Klutch and Wall will put no further pressure on us because we want to facilitate everything they want.

As long as Westbrook would've agreed to a buyout, wouldn't any RB/JW trade been beneficial to us?

Silver isn’t some neglectful Boomer parent who misses everything his crazy kids do. He’s the guy who runs a billion dollar business. He’s aware of all teams machinations from a high level.

But you’re inherently right about the NBA being fixed.
