Sorry, how did Putin out play the west?

He got Belarus and Ukraine. NATO got Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

    So what's the score again?

    Yea, not really.

Putin is destroying his own economy for a land war which will last forever and send that shithole country further into decline.

    Good luck.

America's best play is too avoid direct conflict and just inflict as much economic and militaristic punishment as they can through various means.(sanctions, arming Ukranians)

This is exactly what Biden is doing.

President Biden has gone to great lengths to keep the American military out of the war Russia is imposing upon the nation of Ukraine. Tell me, what is the point of your post? Pointing out how incredibly thoughtless and naive DeFazio is? That's not news to me.

What would be news to me would be a post by you condemning former president trump for praising Putin's acts of war against a sovereign European nation, Ukraine. Since you avoid posting criticism of trump and the Republican Party, no matter what they say or do, while going to great lengths to criticize President Biden and members of the Democratic Party, no matter what they say or do, that would indeed be news to me.

And did Hitler succeed in that? Yes. IS Putin going to succeed here, as well? Yes. FWIW...if you disagree, please discuss with JuanValdez...he is saying basically the same thing.

The Mexico analogy falls flat. We don't have the pretext, nor the same things to gain (or really anything to gain, for that matter) so it wouldn't be 'genius'. It would be stupid.

Putin is NOT operating like KJU...don't make that mistake. He doesn't really get much for it. Putin is a world power, and is getting what he wants.

Nonsense. I've criticized President Biden here, on Ukraine and on Afghanistan, to name two obvious issues. I criticized President Obama here while he was president, and after. Unlike Republican automatons, I'll criticize leaders of my own party when I think they deserve it, and have. I'll add something else. I'm one of the only members who posts down here who openly calls himself a Democrat. There's irony for you.

Your post, ironically enough, does exactly what you accuse me of doing. You are "closing ranks" around Os. Your post is a "defense" of @Os Trigonum, which is pretty absurd when you think about it. He's quite capable of "defending" himself, but his usual M.O. is to "move along" to something, anything else. @Os Trigonum is far from the only member on your "side" of the political sphere who does that.

I don't have a side. also, while my post was a response to yours, it was not necessarily directed (solely) at you. read the several posts above it.

    So here's the @basso playbook.

Russia invades and Biden doesn't send military - Biden is weak and and played us all - he just let Russia take Ukraine!
Biden takes a strong response - Biden is going to start WW3!!!! Why didn't he just let Russia take Ukraine???

Maybe, but... look at India and Pakistan. As crappy as it is, I prefer this situation over two nuke-ready nations going at it.
