This reminds of Dream. People always said Dream matured and developed character.

    Pffft

A person's character is only tested when they don't get what they want, and SF, just like Dream, whines when he doesn't get his way.

The man hasn't changed one bit.

I think he'd learn his lesson if he didn't throw it to Shaq. He's not quite as meek as Ming.

I heard that the reason Orlando is going thru with the trade even though Steve doesn't want to go there is because they already have another deal in the works that would send Steve to Chicago.

The deal I heard is right after we trade Steve to ORL, they will trade him to Chicago for Jamal Crawford, Jerome Williams, and the #3 pick in the draft.

I don't know if it's true or not though.

Quote from Lakers fan on Steve wanting to play with Shaq:
"Francis couldn't even get the ball in to a bigger target (Yao) so Shaq would get the ball from Stevie Dumbass like 2 times a game."

In this scenario, Steve would be playing SG in the smaller eastern conference.

    It would be something like:
    Curry
    Chandler
    Eddie Robinson?
    Steve
    Hinrich

    in the starting 5.

But, again, I don't know if it's true.

Shaq can get position... Yao gets pushed around and does nothing (see play-offs).

Steve played his heart out every time he took the court during his stay in Houston, and he loved playing here. Not many can claim that. He was also the only Rocket who seemed capable of raising his level of play in the postseason, and had a great series against the Fakers. It's possible to be happy to see Tracy McGrady arrive, while at the same time being sorry to see Stevie Francis go. I wish him and Cat nothing but the best in Orlando.

I actually expect Hinrich to play the 2, as he's bigger than Steve and played a lot of the 2 in college. He's a better catch and shoot player, so it's just more sensible that way.

But I thought Francis couldn't be involved in multiplayer deals so soon after being traded?

But this criticism doesn't come without reason. SF deserves much of it. We all know that Francis tries his best. Fine. His interview was NOT selfish or whiny. He was all business. So, I don't agree that he was "crying." He was not. But still. I'm glad we are moving on.

It's one thing to criticize a player for blowing a defensive assignment (Boki) or not being aggressive (Yao), or shooting an air-ball (Cat). But it's another thing if that player KEEPS doing the same type of mistakes over and over again. Judgment of each player comes with their tenure and performance. Not because they are deemed "bad guys" from the start. They must earn respect.

Is merely giving a best effort good enough in this business? I think not. Les and CD thought that SF would be further along in his development by now. They were sadly mistaken; hence trade. Ok,....he tried his best. In the end it's not good enough. I mean, don't you realize why people started to like Cat this year? He's shown improvement! Boki? Him too! Yao is progressing along nicely.

Just so you know....there will be plenty of criticism in the future for any player that doesn't hold up their end. Yao, McGrady (if we get him), Boki, JJ, you name it. It doesn't matter. They all deserve praise and criticism based on what they do on the floor.

It's not just about effort. It's about effort and results!

P.S. If we do get McGrady. The McGrady/Yao duo will bring a higher standard of play to the city. And because of that we will expect a higher level of competition each and every night. We wont expect to lose. Not like before. We were too inconsistent. But that will change. And we will all become very disgruntled if we lose two in a row. Then, and only then will you realize we are much better off.

Am I the only person that is dreaming of building a true dynasty? A true, 60+ win team. Yes, a 3-4 time championship title run. A team that others fear?

Shaq averaged 1 more ppg against Yao than Yao averaged against him in the playoffs, in 5 more min/g. Seems like Shaq's big advantage was the refs.
