I said 5-10 games which includes KPJ playing. Also, using wins and losses this year to prove anything to me has very little weight. My Comment was strictly talking offensive ball and body movement.
That aside I was mainly disputing that Reddit post saying Jalen is playing great D generally. Those guys have varying degrees of defensive issues. But if Jalen winds up as an elite and efficient scorer who is so-so or even below average on D like a lot of those guys that will be great. Russ is such a negative now because he’s inefficient on O and makes poor decisions and also is a negative on D because he falls asleep and makes poor decisions.
I didn’t say anything about wins and losses. KPJ and Schroeder have different skill sets. Schroeder is quicker right now and has not been an efficient 3 pt shooter, KPJ is becoming a very good 3 pt shooter, he may never be as quick, but is very crafty with the ball. His defense is already better than Schroeder’s whose defense is not bad. I’m not anti-Schroeder just think he is a backup PG at best and is an expiring contract that we will have decide on how much to pay him in the off-season. KPJ has the potential at 21 to be very special, but we really don’t know yet.
I guess you really want this to turn into a KPJ vs Shroeder conversation when my main comment was just saying the offense having more body movement and ball movement recently. It was just a compliment to the team. Yall just argue and argue and argue there's no point in even talking on this site anymore.
I'd like to see that too honestly. I'd LOVE to see him as the secondary ballhandler and in more of a role where he can focus on getting his first and setting other guys up second. Just be in full attack mode. Be able to do some things off the catch.
So I can appreciate what you're trying to say here, but you're also adding fuel to the fire of the anti-Green folks by saying this and kinda proving the point I was trying to make with this post. Jaylen Green will not be Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. Let's stop comparing him to those guys—he needs to crawl before he can walk, much less run and jump at the level of an all-time great NBA player. Just like we all need to give him time before we call him a bust, we need to stop posting numbers and making comparisons to the GOATs. Let Green develop and become his own player first, and once he's earned it, we can start drawing comparisons. It's going to take a hot minute to get there.
I do not think he even has to shoot that much on a loaded team or on a team that drew talents from the draft. I do not think anyone should strive to be Jordan or Kobe, the eras have changed. Playing styles changed. It is about efficiency, making the extra play, moving off ball etc.
You and I disagree. I see it and because others don't.....don't make me wrong. As I tell others, we will revisit that topic in 4 years. Kobe was not made in year one. MJ was in college for 3 years before coming out and shooting 16% from 3 for an additional 4 years. Right now Jalen Green is saying, "don't compare an all time great in MJ to me!" "I shoot better from 3 than MJ his first 4 seasons and I'm a rookie of 19-20 years of age." "And he had 28 FGA's per game in his 3rd season.". Not exactly golden despite you being in awe of MJ.....he was not perfect.
Just keep working on those threes and eating tacos, Jalen. Does he really have to change his entire form or just make his form, his example Bagwell stance, Reggie Miller so on so on.
For a "bust" Jalen looked like the biggest potential star tonight. Wish we had a real coach so we could see him put in a position to actually succeed. Imagine being one of the morons who say he can't play basketball or is a Darko level bust?
To b fair. There is no defense at all star, I wouldnt use this performance as evidence for anything. And I agree silas isn't the coach that will make green shine.
If what everyone says is true perhaps it is for the best. A bunch of great draft picks then you bring in a coach and a free agent to bring it all together in a few years.
You are aware that everybody was playing under the same conditions though right? Considering Jalen's supposed to be a bust I would've expected all those players who apparently are unquestionably better to look like prime Jordan, no? Or maybe he's not as bad as everybody claims and he showed out tonight? Funny that.
