He's done some really dumb sht in the past but can't live there. Future looked bleak at the end of last season. Now, we have a lot of young talent and an interesting future. Hope he's better this go around when/If this rebuild enters winning time.
I don't think he's that terrible tbh. Atleast we're rebuilding and not trying to stay competitive for the sake of it. I don't like his personality all that much and I think that's what cost him in the past (CP3/Westbrick trade). I think he thought he had the answer. I don't think he wouldn't be ready to spend money at all if a chip was on the table. We'll see
Sorry that you feel your time was wasted... I just figured I would try to get a more accurate wide opinion - rather than just relying on the opinions of the loudest and most outspoken... at minimum... i figured in this time of divisiveness (both as a country and as Rox fans) it would give an outlet where we could all come together on common ground - our mutual disgust with Frittata! I guess you will be joining the discord in 2-3 years... we will be simpatico at that point...
I agree with all your points except for the one in bold to a degree. To be fair everyone knew that Harden and CP3's relationship was pretty much shattered. If Tilman didn't push for the Westbrook trade and CP3 stayed, who's to say Harden and Chris don't have a blow up that ruins the season? Tilman is far from perfect but we also have to remember the whole story.
Tilman sucks and he hires shitty people to run his basketball operations. Sarver still sucks, his team is good because he lucked into competent people working for him. The fact Sarver sucks doesn’t change the fact Tilman sucks. An ugly woman moving next door doesn’t make your wife beautiful.
Wish he had been satisfied being a T. Boone Pickens-type at the University of Houston. He’s done so well there.
The positive thing about Ferny is that he loves Houston and loves the Rockets. Unfortunately love for your city and team doesn't make you a great (or even good) owner...
We don't know this yet - hopefully we have a chance to find out if he would or wouldn't do that? I think he'd be more likely to steal the trophies and put them on an enormous yacht that he bought through a junk bonds system of financing.... (perhaps even borrowed from Les?)
I think what Tilman notorious wasn't just Chris Paul, it was mostly how he treated Mike D'Antoni in the end. Said all the nice things in the media and then low balled him. There was some drama accompanying them on the way. He said things about "stepping on their throats and cut their throats" to the Worriers. It was met with negative reactions among the Rockets.
In all Seriousness . . . The great hit on Tilman is that he is cheap That is the feeling that everyone has .. . .that that is the driving force behind all decisions While we can all agree getting the best player at the best price is prudent the NBA doesn't work that way . .. .. . As Morey said Players like LeBron/Harden/KD are undervalued at the max QUESTION: Chris Paul is making 30 Million a year now - GOOD PRICE? BARGAIN? STEAL? OVERPRICED? --If the Suns win a championship . . .it is a bargain --- If they get to Western Conference Finals it is good price Even at 40 Million - He would be a BARGAIN for a championship ---That is FAN TALK. . . .. -- Tilman Owner Talk is well . . .. .CP3 gives us a 40% chance to make the finals at 40 million - at age 35+ We can get that same 40% with Westbrook at age 32 or some such Who do we think will be our Next MAX CONTRACT? Will the Rockets even have one anytime soon? I don't see a MAX on this Roster right now . . .. and I feel confident that Tilman D*mn sure doesn't QUESTION: Would Tilman MAX OUT a 6th man of the year - to come and be the main guy? I really don't know and I lean toward no . . . . . but . .. . Agreed The way things with Dan And Tony did leave me a bit . .. bothered Rocket River
Genuinely never understood why people are so obsessed with the owner. I couldn't give a flying **** who owns the team. I'm way more bothered about the GM, coaching staff and players.
The Feeling is that the Owner . .. this Owner at least. . . .overrides those other positions Hard to blame a GM when the owner comes in and tanks deals, f*cks up negotiations and push player changes ---- That Said https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2953581-early-flight-meter-for-top-2022-nba-free-agents Does anyone think we have ANY SHOT at any of these Free Agents? Rocket River
I don't find it hard to blame a GM who has 40m sat on the bench, traded for Dipo and offered him an extensions, crapped out on both trade deadlines he's been a part of, and hired a coach who looks less competent than the average sports-Dad running his kid's team. Different perspectives I guess, I'd rather blame the people actually running **** than try and fob it off on the owner in some bizarre transference exercise.
