green is probably not the worst player in the league; all these advanced stats are only for qualified players above a certain "minutes played" cut-off. Reality is that a player that bad would normally not get the minutes to qualify. I’m not sure how all these minutes benefited him, especially given the stigma of "worst in the League” label that was created by giving him the playing time. Team Should’ve realized he’s a "deep project" and have him in the G-league.
The problem isn't that, rookie Kobe probably got 8-10 minutes, Rookie Jalen got 29-36 mpg. He is likely rested in blowouts but he played major minutes. Advanced stats only said he was a non factor, among the non factors he had the worst stats, also among rookies. While his scoring numbers are pretty in several games, they do not translate directly to winning games. Look, I also see his highlights, they are pretty, but he only did it for stretches, other stretches he is barely contributing. You might say, he is a rookie, but the 2nd overall pick should not look like this.
If you get a Kelly Oubre/Jordan Clarkson at #2 spot, maybe that's not a complete bust but that's absolutely horrific for the franchise. At best, you missed a very rare opportunity to get a franchise-altering/generational player. At worst, heads will roll, that's what they paid to do
Lol at clarkson or Oubre comparisons. Greens athleticism is so good he just needs to barely learn skills to be better than those guys are.
If FO misses again in next year's draft (i.e. get a top 3 pick and get a Clarkson lol) I don't know how you justify giving them FO jobs. They ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT NEXT YEAR. Would I have been smart enough to pick Mobley? No I wanted Green I thought he was special. Many other experts & analysts thought that too. Not many blamed us for picking Green over Mobley. DOESN'T MATTER - FO better get it right next year, negotiating trades/contracts is one thing but you absolutely gotta nail the talent/potential assessment part. Granted you need luck but again, you don't get many cracks at this
Clarkson is already a finished product, Oubre I think to 89%, he could still get better. Oubre is different as he takes pride in his switch Defense. He is fairly long and has great height.
Didn’t you also say Marcus Morris was going to win ROY, breakout year 3, multiple all stars and lead us to a championship? https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/getting-to-know-marcus-morris-your-new-franchise-player.206126/
Yes I did! Unfortunately that didn’t happen. Green is the worst player in the NBA, that’s not a prediction, that’s a fact. It’s happening!
