Can we get a count of everyone that said it was too early to judge Silas even though it was already obvious he was not competent as a headcoach?
SILAS IS NOT A LEADER. He caves to the requests of players who have louder voices in the locker room. A real coach needs to LEAD the players to the vision he has set for them. Silas is too soft.
The Rockets have a real coach….his name is John Lucas. Like everything else I post, I have continually OP’d that Silas sucks and got lambasted for making those posts. I count about 8 of them currently (there will be more). I stated that small ball/no defense sucks and got lambasted. People always respond to my posts with “ban this loser”. I’m gloating only because I find all the same people now agreeing with what I’ve been saying for the past year plus. Silas does suck and the matedor defense with too small a team really isn’t fun to watch over an 82 game schedule…..
Not defending Silas, who was hired to coach a very different team... Maybe we start with firing the assistant running the defensive scheme? They score points... they can't defend worth a crap and they have decent individual defenders....
I don't like Schroder at all, but Green is still a project and i can understand wanting experience on the floor with the other younger guys... Not what i would have done but not ridiculous...
Can you change the title to "Can you PLEASE... Fire Silas??" This is the worst Rockets coach I can ever recall and I've been a fan since Del Harris.
Dennis Schröder's defense is decent. I doubt he'll be here next year, but he'd be a good fit with JVG as head coach, teaching Nix. My theory is team defense begins with unrelenting ball pressure at the PG position. The global inattentiveness on defense last night was a freak-show: some twisted, sick, morbid entertainment that left me feeling unclean for not being able to look away. Heck yes, fire Silas. If only we could fire Ferntits too!
Lol, not a single person in here is arguing that small ball doesn't work. Are you really trying to say the whole board agrees that small ball is bad because they want to fire Silas?? Lmao
I don't even care if we lose this season, but don't try and blow sunshine up my *** and tell me this season is to develop the young guys and not play them properly. Why in the hell are Schroeder and Gordon on the floor at the same time?
Having a first year GM is a bad move for a rebuild IMO. He's going to care wayyy too much about keeping his job, and too keen on the owners personal whims. That was the great thing about Morey. He didn't need this job, and just did what needed to be done. GM's with some clout have the stomach and vision to see a plan through. Hinkie was a rare exception as a new GM with the stomach to do what he did, but he paid a price of his career too, but it was the right thing to do.
Wind your neck in, plenty of people have been calling Silas out non stop all season. Your narrative is bullshit.
I don’t understand why people are all up in arms about Silas. This team is not trying to win. The reason they are playing Schroeder is so they can showcase him and hopefully trade him for more picks. And please for the love of god stop with the JVG nonsense. That dude is an NBA dinosaur plain and simple and will not be working again. I mean look what happened to his brother in NO. SVG is probably less of a dinosaur than JVG and even he was fired after a single season. The name of the game is talent, and right now our talent is too raw to win. We need to put together a plan to get Wall, Gordon and Schroeder off the books to free up cap space. Then maybe we can sign or trade for some actual free agents who are actually good. Then we can consider a new coach. We don’t need anymore retreads. It’s time to stop hiring Dantoni, JVG, SVG, Rick Carlisle, George Karl, Bernie Bickerstaff and all the rest of these old dudes and get some young guys in here who can communicate with a young team and get buy in. We need more Borrego’s and Udokah’s, not Steve Clifford and Thibadaux. A coach cannot make a player do anything, when are people going to learn that? Pop tried that and you see where the Spurs are, and Pop is a HOF coach. So imagine what would happen to someone like JVG if he tried to pull that? Please!
BTW - Schroeder is a PG, Green is not - that is why he closed. Silas is trying to get him acclimated, but don't let it ruin a good Jalen ball hugging thread. DD
U r literally rambling. As soon u said Schroeder need mins to upped his trade value literally everything else u wrote was ignored. Schroeder is on a one year contract (5.8 mil?) Prove it contract after turning down 84 mil/4 years by the Lakers. He can bounce after this year since it's a fking 1 year contract. There is literally no point trying to upped a value of a player that can leave next year. The fact that u didn't even know that, basically made me ignore the rest of your rant. Do research b4 ranting or even consider defending silas mins distribution
Watching Silas consulting his clipboard of plays / notes when we were down last night by 25. I half-expected it to be upside-down. One-on-one coach, sure. HEAD coach, no, no, a thousand times no.
