IIRC, Webber didn't want to play in Sacramento and look how that turned out.

    The deal is imminent.

Francis has NO say in this deal. That interview was from about 3 hours ago.

While the Rockets would be thin if the McGrady deal goes through I don't think it would be THAT bad where they're teetering on disaster. Get a PF (again, I would prefer McDyess, but there are others out there) and/or a back-up center and a PG and the Rockets will be fine. That sounds like alot, but get some roleplayers to plug those holes and the Rockets should be in solid shape.

How bad could this reputation thing hurt him? It's not like his reputation is so bad that they'll put a rookie on the USA Olympic team instead of Francis. Oh wait.

Not really. Keep in mind, Francis/Mobley/Cato for TMac/Howard doesn't work cap-wise; we'd actually need another player. For grins, let's say it's Declerq.

    Ollie
    McGrady
    Jackson/Nachbar
    Howard/Taylor/Weatherspoon
    Yao/Declerq

plus rights to Wilks as a RFA, the rights to Badiane, and a late 2nd rounder.

We actually reduce our committed salary, which IMO would definitely open up our full MCE for use. Land Brent Barry with the full MCE, or land Derek Fisher with part of it. We may even get a 2nd rounder who can contribute as TMac's backup; shooting guards can be found in the 2nd round, look at a guy like Marquise Daniels going undrafted.

    Barry or Fisher/Ollie
    McGrady
    Jackson/Nachbar
    Howard/Taylor/Weatherspoon
    Yao/(Taylor?)/Declerq

Yao, Taylor, and Howard will all play close to 30 mins. a game, hopefully 35+ for Yao. If you get Barry, he has the flexibility to play either backcourt spot. If you get Fisher, you have more money to spend plus the million dollar (actually around 1.5 now) veteran's exception. There are plenty of backup SG types to pick up off the scrapheap, your run of the mill Anothony Peelers, etc. Spoon could also be traded (big for small) for a perimeter player if it was deemed necessary.

You know i really stopped to think about it. And yeah I really do feel bad for Francis. He really did like it here. I mean i don't agree with his no trade demands and the Rep its going to give him. But I can see now it was out of desparation. I know this may be a "mood swing", and I shouldn't have overreacted. Its just that I'm loyal to the Rockets first, not one player. We have seen many players come and go, and i have rooted for them in their respective teams. I will root for Stevie and wish him the best of luck. Now I, as most of you, look to the future and what the Organization is trying to accomplish, laying the foundation for a Dynasty. It took Detroit 4 years under Joe Dumars to get this ring. It took the lakers a bit after getting Shaq. I just hope Steve excels in all aspects of his game. I will remember the killer crossovers, the dunks, the slashing in the lane, the sky high rebounds, the quickness and agility. I really do not hate the man, just his previous actions. This is (for all extensive purposes) done and over with and all I can say is Stevie will be missed.

Rockets fans we have a Dynasty to look foward to:)

I don't see how our depth will be that much different than it was before. Essentially, we're taking away 3 starters and adding 2. Then we have the TE and MLE to sign 2 good free agents, or 3+ cheap. Not to mention we just traded for Ollie, a traditional point guard. Throwing money at positions 1, 4, 3 -- in order -- this offseason should give us a healthy nucleus.
