Chris bosh said the focus of their defense was to stop james harden.... not russ, not KD, James. They believed if they stopped him they win the series.

I just do not buy the james harden is a choker narrative. When you are the best scorer and playmaker on a team, there is just too much weight on your shoulders when you dont have enough star power around you to ease the burden. Has he worn down at times ? Of course. Maybe if they put championship level talent around him things couldve been different. He still took rockets to levels few players in history could have with those rosters....in the western conference no less.

Says the one ducking his sick in every thread related to Harden.

Did man intro you to your boyfriend or something or man he didn’t replace Olajuwon? You have a weird ass love connection with someone that isn’t even here anymore

Yeah… keep comparing a 4 X Champion, 4 X MVP and 4 X Finals MVP to a bum like James Harden who has disappointed in the playoffs time after time. A totally reasonable comparison….. If you were comparing this guy instead.

    What a crock of ****.

You think that they were like....The hell with KD (and Russ, who at the time was considered the better player), lets stop Harden?
    Yeah Right.

James averaged about 17pts and 4 assist for the regular season.
In the playoffs those numbers actually took a slight dip. (who'd have thought, right?)
The two games in that finals series where he actually played well, the Thunder lost both of them.
The ONE game they won he hardly did anything at all and only played about 20 mins.

I could stop right there. In the two games he played well, the lost. In the one game where he barely did anything at all, positive or negative, they Won. Yet their game plan was stop him and they win...But I'll keep going...

Meanwhile KD was averaging almost 42 mins, 28 pts and about 4 assists per game and shooting about 38% from three during the playoffs which were all higher numbers than the regular season. His game had elevated in the playoffs.

But lets go to your fantasy land where that is legit....That "the focus of their defense was to stop james harden"...

You're saying that a team game planned to stop him and it worked as if that is some sort of boon for your argument.
Guess who else gets game planned for?

EVERY OTHER STAR IN THE LEAGUE.

How is that even a legit argument? James and his believers have an excuse for every situation he failed in. It's hilarious, seriously. But I still gotta put you in the box (ignore list) with the rest of the nut huggers, so into the cage you go.

You don't have to buy that narrative, but by all metrics Harden performs way below par when facing elimination, especially in crucial game 6 or 7 of any close series we have had. This has been consistent no matter which year. He can't be worn down from the time he was in OKC all the way to the time he was with the Nets. I think it's something mental with him.

Harden can't handle the big moments and then blames other for the failures. I defended this guy when Houston bc atleast he was willing to take the challenge year in year out. He actually did well in most games too given the extraordinary attention paid to him ( look at what LeBron or steph did with similar attention minus a super team). He has now done a 180 and just decided to find the easiest way as a method to cover his deficiency

Bosh was clearly over simplifying their game plan, I doubt he would tell everyone.

Harden was not the monster scorer back then but he made plays so part of the game plan was to disrupt his passing ways.

And in the course of that, stop KD and Russ as well because alas Harden passed to KD and Russ the most.

Paying respect to Harden and his game is okay because he had a great series against the Spurs.

    Nothing more and nothing less.

Nets were a mess with the whole Kyrie antics and playing part-time nonsense. I don't blame Harden for wanting to play somewhere else. But he followed the same quitting method that he used in Houston which is becoming quite unprofessional now. Either way, chances were quite high, and many called it, that Nets as a team would simply not work out with the trio having a history of being drama queens.

Actual stats to support this fact. Not just some hot take.

James Harden in game 7 against the Bucks last year.

    22 points
    5/17 FG 29%
    2/12 3PT 17 %
    4 Turnovers

His Onlyfans are quick to point at him playing injured and use that as an excuse. Well how was that game much different than his previous 6 elimination games? Hint: it wasn’t.

I agree, I do blame Kyrie and the Nets organization for coddling the idiot. It is absolutely unacceptable for a player to take get to miss half a season and then only come in part time. Not to mention randomly taking personal leaves weeks at a time for no reason.

On the other hand, for Harden to passive aggressively force another trade just looks really bad. You can just secretly pout like this and not be engaged on the court. If you really feel some ways about Kyrie, be vocal about it to your front office, lay it all on the table, make it clear to them in the beginning of the season that if the Kyrie stuff isn't solved you aren't signing with them.

But I think it's part of Harden's personality to just be non-confrontational, but then eventually pull the rug from under you, happened everytime Harden is unhappy, it's never direct.

Thought I saw Harden complaining about taxes in BKN so I don't blame him for staying in Houston for a bit. Especially since rent is very much free.

@Killatron 2000 my psychic says Harden is secretly helping us with the Nets draft pick because he loves Houston so much.
