Haven't posted here in a long time, but was just checking the board and man, it's such a trip to read a thread that I clearly can recall first reading over 22 years ago. This place has so much history it needs to be archived in the Smithsonian

I've often wondered, where did all these so-called great 99ers go? many of them haven't been seen or heard from for ten or twenty years.

21 years man. A lot has changed from back then.
Technology took a bump forward, but so has human stupidity.

A Geocities HTML page with animated gifs in the 90's had more content than 90% of what we see in internet today.

Go back another 21 and it's a different world, in countless ways. Sticking with just the technology we're using here, the internet didn't exist. In 1978 ARPANET, it's precursor, was continuing to be developed between a few dozen universities, as well as nodes within the government. The general public went about it's business, unaware of the enormous changes coming down the pike.

fapping was automatically programmed into jontro's system upon creation. they say self love is important. you need to learn to love yourself before you love others.

I'm curious how many current members weren't even born when this thread was created.

Not a prolific poster for many years, but I was lurking around in '99. Popeye, Juan, Cabbage, German, etc. bring back memories.

It's fascinating how much communication has changed. Most of the '99 posts are well thought out, persuasive essay format. Today, posts are like tweets.
