I said at the beginning of the season when everybody wanted to bench him to give him until half the season and you would see him average 16-18ppg & 7ast

    I see him averaging 23 & 7 next season

Also think he’ll become a lot more clutch in the 4th than Harden ever was

And it's basketball here.... not quantum physics. As long as his airhead moments are just quirky funny moments and he's not bolting at halftime I'm good.

Now do I want to give him an extension right now??.... um no. I'm still pressed to take him all the way through RFA and roll the dice. I absolutely think his agent and the team are talking about an extension right now in some way, and I hope Stone does one good thing and stays far away from a huge extension for KPJ.

    100%

Safe to say that would not be wise. Progress has been great. Still questions about the best position, but those answers will come. Growth is growth. Bumps in the road are one thing. Huge potholes can wreck the car.

Obviously headed the right direction. Hope he keeps it up.

But when will the next "incident" be and what's it going to look like?

I dunno, ask Allen Iverson that, or Ron Artest or Charles Barkley or Hakeem or any number of players who had incidents when they were young before they matured into grown men.....

Maybe there won't be a next......you are not completely defined at 19.

The progression of a player is pretty amusing to watch or as we've seen around the webs and here, some just can't handle it.
How was Thunder twitter reacting over their 3rd pick turning 21 yrs old and only averaging 12pts and 3 assists back in 2010?
Cause right now, KPJ at 21 is putting up better numbers with so much better defense.
Will KPl take that next leap?
It will be a lot cooler if he did.

This is how quickly things can change. Keep that in mind when making definitive statements about these super young players. Not saying the slipper won’t fall off or that the carriage won’t turn back into a pumpkin, but speaking in absolutes with young and talented guys is usually not best practice.

I’m still not sure PG is his BEST position in order to fully maximize his abilities, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong and he’s certainly trending in that direction. I always said he had talent and would be a good secondary playmaker and would be best utilized as a scorer that can facilitate. At the end of the day, players that work on their games and mature get better.

KPJ clearly has gained confidence, which is the biggest obstacle to young guys success.

KPJ threw this down with his right hand. Much different player when he’s in attack mode. I need to see my PG putting pressure on the defense like this. Making stuff happen for himself and opening up opportunities for others.

    We aren’t winning games.

Hopefully KPJ has improved his shot and hasn’t just been hot.

There was a stretch early on last game, where we got a glimpse....of what could be...for this backcourt.

byproduct of social media and constant news.

KPJ's issues would've been a lesser deal 20 years ago.

KPJ is arguably our best player and has the highest upside.......

He has to mature for sure, but his rough start and his willingness to work and change you give him every chance to succeed.......and you might get him cheaper for a bit because of those issues.

If we can have 2 PG/SGs as starters like the old Boston Celtics did - than we can be special.

I agree with you. If we could get him to sign sooner rather than later at a reasonable rate I would do it. What would you think would be reasonable?

That is a @BimaThug question, but I would offer him early a 2 year extension plus 2 years more at the orgs option at a reasonable rate.

Harden was average clutch, just not in the last 3 minutes. He scores relatively well during the Quarter.

Talking about the Bird Celtics, you don't need a traditional PG to win a chip, even Curry is not a traditional PG - nor is Kyrie......

A scoring PG is the nature of today's beast....
