You can't usually turn one or two draft picks late in the draft into a top 15 pick, but it can be part of a package. Also, OKC has a number of picks in this draft and is unlikely to keep all of them.... so there is a better chance than usual to move up in the draft.

Also Ill take 8 young players on the Rockets than guys like Schroeder etc. The Rockets are a rebuilding team...... and character obviously doesn't mean much to them or they wouldn't have Schroeder, Porter and Wood all on the same team.

Someone needs to put Stone's face on his face and other GM faces on the other players at the table.

Nope that isn't what it was.

The Rockets did not want a 2022 #1 pick, they wanted a #1 pick without a lot of protections down the line....

In no way is an aging injury prone EG getting the Rockets that down the road. He'll continue to rack up more injuries and these pick values some of these folks are miraculously hoping for will get worse and worse

what's funny is the rockets are trying to act like they're in position of leverage. You're literally the worst team in the league led by shitty ownership/fo and you're trying to be a home run hitter out the gate. What a joke

Pretty good prospects that we probably could've gotten with that late pick for EG...

    Drew Timme (C, 17ppg, 6rpg)
    Julian Champagnie (SF, 19ppg, 7rpg)
    Max Abmas (PG, 23ppg, 4apg)
    Tari Eason (F, 16ppg, 7rpg)
    Walker Kessler (C, 11ppg, 8rpg, 4bpg)

Agree with those who mention adding Schroder as another bad sign and head-scratcher.
How does that help develop our younger players? Our locker room? Or even help our draft order?
I mean, play freaking John Wall if you want a veteran presence -- at least he's not a bad guy.

If he really wanted to leave they would have done that for him Eric Gordon is a Rocket through and through. If the organization still wanted him and the players on the team still wanted him and he was willing to stay there is no deal to be done. Stone is smart enough to build our reputation back after soo long of treating players like assets. Morey is still really about to die on the James Harden hill.

We now have more than 60m in dead money on the team in Gordon and Wall.

    Wow.

OKC's roster and cap space is in align with rebuilding while the Rockets are still straddling the Harden era with some of their players and cap space.

I'm not sure how much I believe we actually had 2 FRPs for EG at any rate.

Someone was saying the Rockets said that but we never really know if it came from the Rockets.

Morey's MO was to use the media and I am sure Stone does the same.

Do we even know Rafael is running the Rockets? Or is Patrick Fertitta making these decisions? Hard to tell at this point.

We know Patrick sucks. And Stone hasn't exactly done much. Not sure it really matters

Stone and Feigan are just Tilman sock puppets.

    Exactly.

Stone over reached so teams moved on and targeted and acquired other players to fill their needs.

Schroder is on a 1 year contract. We didn't pick him up for lulz.

We didn't have two #1's for Gordon.... we had offers of a single #1 from a couple teams.

The Rockets front office wanted a future, lightly protected #1 for Gordon and an expiring.

Right. but Silas said he is in the rotation.... so he will likely be here the rest of the season.
