What trade , other than maybe shipping out Wall… did you want them to make? Not like they were making the playoffs NOR… do we want them making the playoffs this year. What , more draft picks?
I'm flabbergasted Gordon is still on the roster, it seems completely inexcusible because his value was never gonna be higher.
Not only is he still on the roster but we added another veteran at his position to get rid of Theis. Good job, good effort.
Posted this in the other thread, but this was our to-do list today. Rockets had 4 trade deadline priorities, ranked in order 1. Free Gordon for some future value [FAIL] 2. Unload Wood for some future value [FAIL] 3. Unload Wall, if you can [FAIL] (this was always going to be hard) 4. Move Theis, for whatever [ C - pure salary dump] How do you think they did?
If he wasn’t getting a 1st for Eric, then there was no point to ditch him for nothing. As an expiring contract maybe he has more value next year. I’d much rather do that than ship him out for no reason at all.
And in order to do so, we had to give up a young talent in Armoni Brooks, all because he gave Theis a trade kicker.
Actually. He doesn’t have one job. He has had many jobs. And he’s been a failure on MANY of them. I can’t believe how many rockets fans are backing him. More just showed us his expertise, yet again. For the second trade deadline in a row, Stone overplayed his hand and failed.
Or maybe he should concede that EG’s value was never going to be higher and take the best deal available.
I thought Stone was a "deal guy" Looks like he overplayed his hand. The leak of deals on the table for EG was def BS. I expected more. I guess we'll see if this dude is as smart as we think he is. Side note: If the Sixers lose to Brooklyn in the playoffs, my oh my how funny would that be.
Gets rid of someone who shouldn’t even be here and actually gets something while his value is what it is. I can’t wait to rebump with this later logic and EG value is flat out trash Bc they waited so long being dumb
I mean if there weren't deals there than I get it. Don't trade players just to trade them. And I have hope that Wood plus our late pick moves us into the top 10 or something. But all this talk about having teams with a first round pick makes him look like an idiot. If he did have a first round pick, then he should've taken it. He had MULTIPLE offers, right? If he didn't have a first round pick, then he's a liar and an idiot at negotiating trades. With him and Tilman this is going to be a LONG REBUILD.
Aside from not getting assets, I really don't want to watch Wood and Gordon anymore. Sengun and Green need all the minutes and touches they can get, and need to not be 3rd and 4th option when they are on the floor, even if Green hasn't earned it. Lastly, trading Wood and Green may be the difference between the 3rd pick and the 8th pick depending on how many games they win us over other tanking teams the rest pf the season. It's pretty obvious this is a case of Stone waiting too long vs not getting any offers. This is back to back years that Stone submitted his trade at 1:59PM.
