Your first two reasons are just plain false as there is a lot of data there to clearly refute that but I agree with your third one. If we literally are attempting to lose every game then you definitely want to use the time to test the roster.

However by your logic Gordon should never, ever see the floor.

I'll eat the crow. I thought there was no chance in hell Theis was tradeable.

Dennis Schroder can hang out with John Wall at home though. I wouldn't even print him a single jersey.

I don't understand why the team waived Brooks. They had enough roster spots.

Yes because Morey-Luhnow/Click aren’t infallible either. The credit is they were able too get out of contracts that were detrimental too winning farely quickly.

Sure but he will help the team win more than lose which is what you dont want happening at this point of the season. This is already 50% of the season gone all you need to do is stay the course and we get a top 5 pick to solidify the young core for the future.

Im a big Stone stan but this was a dumb move, we should be trading vets away not acquiring them. If the Rox were so deperate for wins they should've just made a grandfather offer for Tyrese Haliburton, that way they can load up on immediate help but still get a young guy on the squad.

    1) Porter 2) Jalen Green
    3) Tate 4) Sengun
    5) Mathews 6) Kenyon
    7) Garuba 8) Josh Christopher
    9) C Wood 10) Nwaba
    11) Eric Gordon 12) John Wall

    13) Theis................................Enes Freedom
    14) Augustin..........................Shroder
    15) Armoni Brooks................Bruno Fernando

Nix and T Queen are Dual Contracts so waiving them does nothing in this
situation. You have to replace them with 2-Way player contracts.

They don’t, they could have saved Brooks if he didn’t give Theis the trade kicker, which sucks..

He should have gotten out of the Gordon, Wood & Wall contracts and into the Evan Mobley contract ( when he had the chance). That would have been impressive. Stone has been far from a zero but still leaves a lot to be desired and can’t be compared to the job the Astros did building a champion.

They value Nix and Queen more than Brooks.

Nix is a true PG, and Queen is not a tiny person and could acutally play SF as a good athlete.

The Rockets have been giving Brooks time lately with Eric Gordon out
and has done nothing, unfortunately, with that time.

First Rd draft picks get extra seasons to prove worth.

Rockets can't convert Brooks to Dual Contract again after
signing him to standard contract earlier this year.

I have a theory about this trade:

    1) We were done with Theis so he was wasted salary and years.
    2) We want to see Porter and Green at the SG/SF positions for the purpose of 'who do we draft'
    3) Dennis Schroder can kinda sorta ish ... play the Jaden Ivey role

I think we may want to draft Jaden Ivey, but want to take a look at how that might play out on the court first. I'd still prefer the versatile Chet, but this would be a good way to take a look and get rid of the Thesis contract at the same time.

    Thesis concluded. Did I fail?

not trying to be overly critical, but I do find it concerning that they didn’t have that worked out as a fall back ahead of time. The front office must be pretty chaotic.

glad the deal happened but man, I’d really like to be a fly on the wall to better understand how the FO conduct themselves.

but the KPJ PG experiment is finally working. Why would we want to disrupt that by playing DS? Plus it’s clear Christopher needs a lot of minutes. Are we really going to play DS meaningful minutes?

Ivey is a much better prospect than Green, but it would be soul crushing to pass on the big 3 in this draft after passing on Allen and Mobley last year.
