Makes sense though. Every contender needs a player like JT, and he is on a bargain contract, so easy to trade for especially since Rockets are looking for draft capital. His heart and intensity would be missed though.
I disagree but I'm thinking longer term. Our nets trade was always a bet on "I hope the nets suck after this KD/Kyrie/Harden era is over" and the chances of that just went down significantly. Even after this current "era" is over they will still have Ben Simmons, who can probably lead a team to 45 wins in the east surrounded by some role playing shooters who run the floor and play defense. Before this trade we could have hoped for that post KD era to be a lotto team, and get some really nice picks. Now our odds of Brooklyn bottoming out while we still own their picks are close to 0.
tate is our most valuable piece vet min contract and good roleplayer already with some upside . moving him and keeping wood is certainly one way to make sure the tank goes as planned.
we dont need to keep him either . the like 5 games ive liked watching this year ... ego had a part in that hes still under contract for us next year
other GMs probably snicker when they see a report claiming Stone has 1st round picks lined up for his players
