Really? Morey always struck me as the ultimate smug, smartest in the room type I remember rumors for years about how other teams were unwilling to deal with Morey, both because of his arrogance and they were scared of being embarrassed by getting robbed in another Lowry or Harden type deal Not knocking this at all ... I used to be a pilot, and I love cocky d!ckheads so long as it's real and justified Nothing wrong with knowing your a badass and refusing to apologize for it
Those would be the 2nd and 3rd best picks dealt so far at this deadline. I would not have much interest in their 2022 pick.
A potentially unprotected pick from a team with no top 10 players - and the closest is Butler who is 33 next season. Has Presti been making deals since he was 20?
Nobody got robbed. You forget that Dipo has been injured all year and when he’s healthy he isn’t very good at all.
So now I guess we know that Stone’s trade deadline move every year is going to be bluffing he has multiple 1st round pick offers for the guy he wants to trade (Dipo, Ego) but is looking for more, not fool anyone, and wind up with nothing…
Everyone needs to chill. There's gonna be like 20 trades in the next 24 hours and at least one of them will be the Rockets. That's how it goes every year.
In your opinion, if the Miami 2022 pick is the best offer, and we decided to wait to next offseason, could we still recoup the same value or more? I think EG is at his greatest value due to a multitude of reasons: wide-open playoffs; shooting efficiency highs; the trade market and contender team's needs. My worry is EG's value could plummet after the finals. So let's take the BO now (within reason). What say you?
If my current pessimism succeeds in a reverse jinx for nice trade tomorrow, I’ll happily contribute it to the cause. But right now I’m not having fun.
If Stone lands Rui, I'm sorry I ever doubted him. I don't care how middling he's been. He's my new Bruno.
Yes. That's what I mean by a "a trade within reason." I think the market agrees and has set his value at a FRP, at least. Don't see his value increasing or staying the same in the off season. Not trading EG before the deadline for a FRP would be a blunder from Stone.
Well with those reports they just said Rockets front office. They never specified if it was Morey that was pissing them off because it could very well have been Stone. Needless to say my point was that my opinion was that Morey had a very approachable personality, and there's a reason why everyone wanted to interview him. Even though there are lots of ways Morey and Stone work alike in their approach I'm sure, it's just my opinion based on what I've seen that Stone comes off much different than Morey, and I'd much rather have a sales call with a customer that had the personality of Morey than someone with Stone's personality. I don't really know either guy personally obviously so I could be wrong, but just my opinion. Stone rubs me the wrong way. The lying to the media too in order to publicly negotiate & play games too isn't something I recall under Morey at least so blatantly. Overplaying their hand till the last minute is something that worked out well in the past (see T-Mac trade), but it also has hurt the team too (see Oladipo trade for nothing).
