EG has put in his time and deserves to be traded to a playoff team. You don’t let him sit on the bench if we don’t trade him. He is not complaining like Harden, Russ or even PJ did. He has been a very good player for us, let him move on.
No move is better than a bad move. The Rockets are heading in a specific direction and no need to mess that up just to make moves. From what I have seen (I know its early)…no player from our young core can be the best player on a championship team. Yes, some can end up being the 2nd or 3rd best player on a championship team, but not the first. I hope in the next year or two, Rockets can trade some of their young players and BRK assets for a player that can be the best player on a championship team. Maybe Zion? SGA? Donavan Mitchell?
Zion = No because of injury concerns. SGA = No. Can’t even get the Thunder out of their hole. Spidey = Interesting. Maybe.
Trade Idea; Houston In: Kyle Anderson, Dario Saric, Jalen Smith, Ziaire Williams and PHX 23 1st Rounder (Top 4 protected), MEM 2nd Rounder Phoenix In: Eric Gordon and DJ Augustine Memphis In: Daniel Theis, David Nwaba and Cameron Payne Anderson is an expiring, Saric will expire next year, Jalen Smith and Ziaire Willams are two front court players to workout plus a first and 2nd rounder.
I think that’s who they were offering for Harden last year. “Won’t give you Herro or Robinson but we’ll give you Precious Achiuwa and KZ Okpala.”
The trade that would not surprise me, but would still surprise me because it would come out of nowhere would be Jazz trading Golbert or Mitchell.
I guess in this scenario that Memphis is trying to give Morant a worse team so as to improve his case for the MVP?
Hot take: Harden and Simmons both get traded by the deadline but neither end up on the Nets or the Sixers.
Nets have 0 leverage, no way a deal gets done. I’ll bet anyone $50 that not only that Harden stays put, Gordon stays and Wood stays.
there is no downside to trading Eric Gordon if you are a rebuilding team and currently last place in the West with 27 games to go. I don’t see a defensible argument for keeping him past the deadline.
I have an eerie feeling that the Heat are about to fleece Stone again. Wood for Duncan Robinson, 2023 lottery protected and 2027 lottery protected (if eligible). Rockets are chum in the water
