It seems we have a lot of the same taste in Music Timbaland and the Neptunes are 2 of my all time favorites and Dre is just a god, never really gave Manny fresh much credit, but the proof is in the pudding.

True story I lived in the area around VA beach when a lot of the Timbaland and Neptune stuff was bubbling up and a still kick myself that I did become a part of that scene, Timbaland was already a thing, but nobody really knew about the Neptunes at that time.

My Mount Rushmore is DJ Premire, Timbaland, Pete Rock, and Organized Noise. I should make room for the Neptunes because I love them and Frontin gets me going every time.

I think I need to combine Timbaland with the Neptunes because they are both so important.

There’s good post 90s rap, even in 2010s, just not that many who weren’t around then. Nippsy, Lamar and some other more unknowns are cool. Still none of them can beat some of the Wu-Tang family, Bone,Thugs-n-Harmony, some Bay Area legends like Richie Rich, C-Bo, Nutt-So who come out with decent rap songs every now and again.

Speaking my earlier point of current rap lacking substance.... rap nowadays has zero storytelling. Stories were basically the foundation of the genre

    I haven't heard a story told since '05

This '05....... H-Town baby... Texas mayne

    90's

Let's get into this a bit. For casual Hip Hop fans, like Rock there's many subgenres and flavors. Different people have different cups of tea, we'll put some 2010's Houston talent in this one.

Yes, she's just outside the time limit, but why not. NSFW btw

Nas was one of the greatest and also one of the most disappointing music experiences I've had. Illmatic was absolutely amazing really a perfect album then the immediate hard turn to an over produced mainstream commercial record It was Written was an incredible let down.

I didn't discover Nas until later on, maybe 2 or 3 years later. Look up all the albums that came out in 1994. It still baffles me that people consider as a goat.

Another flavor for those the like lyricism. Some older tracks, but two all time greats with Aesop Rock having a strong argument for GOAT lyricist all time.

If you havent heard Distant Relatives, his colab with Damian Marley, check it out. I'm a Nas fan, but I think people overrate him.

Nas has dropped a couple duds... The Firm was prob the worst

He also has ~15 albums and is arguably the greatest lyrist all-time. His flow, content, and longevity is unmatched
