Who likes Nwaba to the Hornets? Makes sense. He can really help on the defensive end.

Gordon Hayward is hurt... Nwaba or EGo might make a nice replacement ;)

I think Nwaba ($5M) and Theis ($9M) were both nothing more than salary
Knowing Gordon ($18M) and Wood ($13M) were both being shopped since training camp, either of the first 2 could have been combined to acquire $27-32M of incoming salary if the right young star on a big contract became available
    Just negotiating flexibility assets
Pretty obvious now that both have been banished from the rotation

What do we gain from keeping him? We are literally paying him to do nothing. He won't ever play for us again and he won't ever be tradeable unless we are taking on someone with an even worse contract.

Maybe he goes to another team and helps push Brooklyn even further down the standings.

He may agree to a buyout in which case the Rockets would save millions of dollars. Seems like a good reason to keep him and not play him.

The Rockets don’t gain anything. The cap hit is the same.

    Cap wise, yes, no difference
I believe the previous poster was referring to Tilman's wallet, which is a BIG difference to him

He may agree to opt out of the final season. He may be part of a trade in the off-season. He may be part of a trade at the deadline next year.

None of it is likely, but it is impossible if they cut him. They’d still be paying him the same amount, yet without any possibility of using his contract to help them. Cutting him would be a fireable offense. It’s complete incompetence.

In the end this is all inconsequential. I hope the rockets trade guys where they want to go or don’t trade them at all. Team is tanking great as is and shouldn’t be in a rush to do anything.

When I said rotation age, I was including Sengun (19), KM (20), Matthews, and JayGup (19). We've got critical mass of young players who aren't even old enough to drink.

As for that comparison to the 2010 Thunder, that's the GOAT team for young talent. Three future MVPs and Hall of Famers below the age of 24, carrying an uber young team to the NBA Finals, is a crazy measuring stick to measure against. We'd be lucky if one player on this team approaches anywhere close to prime Westbrook, Harden, or Durant.
