Texans hire Lovie Smith

The Steelers were 100% set to hire internally when they interviewed Mike Tomlin and switched gears and hired him instead.

 

The Texans have effectively lowered the bar to "he won't get lost in the stadium... great hire!"

 

I’m wondering if Cal even shows up to the PC.

 

They cut a lot of salary out of that defense for 2021, but only dropped from 30th to 31st worst defense. So that could be something to brag about, but really the already exposed tampa 2 is not something to be building a defensive unit around.

 

So much negativity. I'm good with Lovey. I didn't want Flores, who was trying desperately to obtain a sexual predator as their QB.

 

Wish I had that joy as that kid does for the Texans picking Lovie over Brian Flores. Instead, I would just take a dump on Cal.

Sad thing is, he might actually enjoy it.

Once again. Its the sham hiring process that irks people the most.

What is the point of all this sham interviews and finalists bullsht if they are just gonna promote in house. Literally louvie became a hc within days y did it take a month to do? Basically a pivot hired cause of the lawsuit.

If we were gonna hire a minority coach should have been this man over culley a season ago.

Even worse, they’re likely not sham interviews/process’…. They’re literally failing to entice or close anybody they had their sights set on.

They’re really going to be expected to deliver with drafts, trades, FA signings as well now?

 

I’ve been pretty vocal on how I feel about the org but I’ll say this:..

I appreciate Lovie taking this job. This is not an easy place to coach right now. He knows the game, and win or lose he will be solid. It’s not his fault that this org has made some terrible decisions.

I’m going to root like hell for Lovie. I’m not sure the front office expects success but they damn sure better give him some tools so he has the opportunity to find said success.

 

Tomorrow's is going to be 90% of Caserio repeating we are not here to talk about Josh McCown or Easterby, today is Lovie's day.
