Juwan Howard better than Cato???? You must be smoking crack!! I bet if you polled the 30 GM's in the NBA today, 90% of them would take Cato over Howard. Cato is younger, has size and based on the last two seasons and been a high energy and effort player. Howard has been niether. Howard is a over paid has been that sucks on a pitiful team in Orlando. At this point, Mo Taylor is a much better player than Howard.
Give me a break, Cato sucks! There I said it. He definitely sucks on offense. And Mo is a crappy rebounder. At least Howard can grab a few boards and actually make an open 12 footer. I'm tired of this offensive PF/defensive PF rotation crap. I'd gladly take Howard over either of those guys. He's not a huge difference maker on either end, but at least he doesn't hurt the team either, which if we have Yao and T-Mac might be all we need from the PF position.
so you were getting on tmac for not being able to get his team to the playoffs and yet you even admit that the magic had NO ONE. so what do you expect to happen with a team that has only one good player?
Juwan averaged 17.5ppg and 7.5rpg over the past two seasons. He's paid less than Cato. Kelvin struggled to average 6ppg and 6rpg last year as a starter on a playoff team. That just won't get the job done. There isn't a coach or GM in the league that would prefer Cato over Juwan as a starting 4.
There is no other way to say this, you are an idiot!!!!! T-Mac is far and away a better player than both Francis and Mobley combined. The man is only 25, perennial MVP candidate, scoring champion, and has not even reached his prime. He is physically far more gifted than said Rockets players, and is the one player I've seen, one on one, shut down Kobe. Once again, Steve, Cat, and Cato failed to play much defense until Van Gundy got here, and a half-ass McGrady effort on D is the equivalent of their full out effort. McGrady is not a ballhog, he just happens to be playing on NBDL talent team. Outside of Juwan Howard and maybe Drew Gooden, there is no help. Yeah, so the Magic went 21-61 last year? The year before McGrady single handedly put Detroit in a 3-1 hole even though the Magic lost. Furthermore, this trade is not for next year, in my opinion this trade is for a few years down the line when both McGrady and Yao are in their prime. When that happens, holy crap watch out NBA. As I said before, you are an idiot!!!!!!!
I can't believe there are so many people who think the Rockets could stay pat and suddenly become contenders overnight. Look at T-Mac's 02-03 numbers(when he WASN'T injured) and then sit yourself down in a corner. He's extremely unselfish but his team has always been terrible because Grant Hill was injured(in case you forgot, which many people seem to do).
OK, so I'm an idiot. Fine, everyone is intitled to their opinion no matter how assanine it is. Time will tell the story! If the ROX make this ill fated trade, I 'll give it a year until you turncoats want to run T-Mac to Clipperland.
i hate this trade idea. an entire starting backcourt plus a starting forward/backup center for an all-star? lame
QUOTE: "We basically sacrificed our depth by giving up several good players who are relatively young and approaching their primes for one great one. " Can you read? Lets review: I listed the similarities and you totally ignored it and drifted of to lala land. You throw in some differences that sounded nice and say there are no similarities that you can see.
