Judging by what I just watched tonight…. Chet’s undoubtedly my #1 pick. Don’t care about his slight frame. He knows how to use it. Model his offensive game after Dirk and model his D after…. Himself …. He’s unique
Funny seeing a guy like Terrell brown a 5th senior who played 4 years at Pitt, trying to “bully” Chet and embarrass himself.
Can’t tell me this dude doesn’t have massive offensive upside. How many 7 footers can move like that and handle the rock like that? And be a DPOY candidate from jump
Holmgren is getting more comfortable on Gonzaga and is slowly being allowed to show what he can do offensively. He has huge upside. His physique really doesn’t matter as much as a lot of people seem to think, it’s 1990 anymore, contact is really limited.
And it’s not like he doesn’t do well with contact. He’s got some dog in him. That makes up for a lot. No, he won’t ever be a banger but that doesn’t mean he can’t bang when needed
How many 7 footers are making that driving layup from a full court sprint while handling the ball? Don’t wanna hear anymore nonsense about him being slow lol. He’s a great athlete, good feet, good agility, great long speed, good leaper all combined with good instincts. Not explosive with first step but you can’t find a video of him not being able to get by someone or someone getting by him on a blow by.
He is up to 47% from 3 this season and 75% on 2’s… His Ortg is 129 and his Drtg is 79! He is just scratching the surface of his upside.
We will not have a shot at this guy or the other two bigs - OKC is coming strong on tank mode I don’t see us holding them off. To grab Chet we have to be at least in the bottom three- I don’t see it happening
I want to see him on Giannis supplements...I mean proper nutritional diet with very high protein...in the NBA
I don't know squat about Chet other than everyone loves him but even then I know he is better than wood. Just wanted to get a laugh
Chet went full UNICORN against San Diego. Beat the good teams, dominate the bads ones. 7 foot freak with high IQ. “I feel like it kind of comes to you in different situations reading the game. They were going zone so their big guy was getting back to the paint,” Holmgren said. “I knew the trail would be there if we were pushing hard in transition, they weren’t able to set up the zone so I was just trailing hard looking for those shots. I have great teammates, Ra (Bolton) was telling me the whole game, basically do you and make plays. So he was inspiring confidence in me, then my teammates were finding me.” https://www.khq.com/sports/gonzaga/...cle_ee8c9b68-5eec-52b1-b71f-07c50ec8d379.html
What did you see that made him the number 1 pick? Smith and Banchero have had more spectacular games, and most of his points were fast break 3's. Not saying it was not impressive, but that was not a spectacular display IMO.
