You have to wonder if Hakeem had a brief talk with the coaches after his "workout session" with Sengun. Perhaps his voice was enough to convince the coaches to find Sengun more time. Clever that Silas would go to Wood and give him the "idea" that he might play a few more minutes if he at the PF slot. In today's pro game, this kind of conversation is probably not all that unusual.

With the Cavs drawing up lineups with Love/Allen and Mobley on the court all night, this seems like the perfect game to tweak minutes. Even with Sengun playing more, Love and Mobley took 40 shots in this game. That's a lot of big man basketball.

Wood, if he has any true future in this league, needs to solve his personal problem of not being able to play with and make others better. There's no reason that a player of his build and shot selection can't log minutes at the PF position.

There are 31 games left in this season. Let's see if Silas can bump Sengun's minutes consistently into that 23-25 range.

 

Yeah I wonder how much Jalen's development is slowed because of all the others we are trying to develop at the same time, KPJ as a point guard, JC, Alpi..

Now that's what I've been expect since December but the two just
haven't clicked. Maybe they've found that happy median/chemistry.

Okoro is a good defender and Rondo is smart; but no Sexton or Garland
in this game.

 

Scoring 20+ a night will be easy for Jalen once he settles in. If he puts on 15-20 lbs of muscle over the next few years and makes the nominal improvements everyone expects he will be so fun to watch. If he's a true 1st option taking 15-20 shots a game he may even hover around that 30ppg mark in his prime. It comes that easy for him. Scooter the PG was on display too! 7 more dimes. He may one day be that 10apg guy that everyone said he couldnt be. Thats good news for us! Sengun was a problem extended PT = +20 what?! Really entertaining brand of basketball - they even played good defense in spurts.

On the other end, it was impressive to see Mobley featured and excel. He was the #1 guy for CLE last night and showed up. Easy to see what his fans like and IMO it looked like he was playing with a little extra for Houston. Almost as if there is bad blood on both sides. Makes me believe those reports even more that he didnt want to be here. Should make for a good rivalry moving forward.
