Hopkins could suck Satan's **** every night and this trade would still be the worst in the history of professional sports.
Without the Hopkins trade they don’t trade for Cooks. With the Texans Cooks is going to count an average of 8 million against the cap. Hopkins with the Cards counts cover 20 million against the cap. Advantage Cooks. The trade really isn’t as bad as it gets made out to be if you look at the subsequent moves.
False. Whether you want to pay Nuke or trade him is one question and perhaps a defensible one at that. But if the answer is "trade him" then we absolutely should've gotten more - a lot more.
We also took back David Johnson which is probably part of the reason we passed on Jonathan Taylor. Advantage Colts. Same logic right?
Do you know for a fact they could have gotten more? Vikings got more for Diggs because he was 1 year into a 5 yr contract and wasn’t threatening to hold out…Hopkins on the other hand was crying about his contract which drove down his value. And there really isn’t that much of a difference between talent available in the late first round vs early second round.
