There are examples of teams around the league speaking highly of McCown…Philly wanted to hire him last year I believe.
yes, that's why I included that. I put more into that than whatever cleverness the Texans uppity ups think they possess.
For people who've never been a HC, just the process of interviewing is a positive. I think coordinators would take interviews anywhere they get an opportunity.
Right and think most would take the job if offered as well. Just don’t see multiple people turning down an opportunity to be a head coach regardless of who it is for.
The best thing that can happen to the Texans is if Cal can be proven to be some racist. Those Washington Redskins emails were a goldmine but sadly they were locked up probably because they incriminated many more owners besides just Cal. The NfL sacrificed Gruden to protect everyone else
I think any up and coming coach that believes they'll have a job opportunity in the next year or two would absolutely say no to the Texans. Obviously yoj hope not to fail, but if you do, that first job can decide if you'll ever get a 2nd job opportunity and the Texans aren't where you want to be for that. But coaches who are borderline whether they might ever get a job or who are not getting other HC opportunities anytime soon (Culley, McCown) would jump at it certainly.
Agreed. But just don’t think all of them turned it down as the poster was asking. Think it is very likely McCown is simply one of their top choices.
How in the hell did the Texans get rid of the worst general manager in the history of the NFL and manage to get worse…move the team to Austin or San Antonio having the city of Houston associated with this is embarrassing
The only tail that fits all of these flights is JTL604. That plane hasn’t been in Houston since November 20th. I don't think this is the right one.
If you mean the declining the Texans interview, he ended up doing it after the Colts were eliminated.
I want them to hire McCown. It's the anarchist in me. I think McCown will be a good head coach. Maybe not right away. In three years, I think he will be. And we have that time. On top of that, the chaos it will bring will be fun. Media skewering. Fans quitting, or threatening. The Texans deserve it all. And in the end, Caserio either looks like a genius or fail spectacularly and maybe the team considers wholesale changes. I'm being honest when I say McCown is my top choice.
Brian Flores has literally fallen in the Texans lap but they’re likely going to take the guy who flips pancakes at bible studies
