I’m not saying he won’t be a good head coach. But the optics look awful bringing him on while not giving someone and opportunity with more experience. But it is what it is I suppose.. the national and local media will have a field day if or when he gets hired
Is there no reason why they can't bring him in as an assistant like....quality control or something lol. Geez!
Yes, because that would make too much sense. I honestly don't care if he gets hired. I guess that shows how low my expectations are for this franchise.
Uh oh, Cal is "fixated" on his guy now. Announcement is imminent. Texans are screwed, but most of all, Houston Texans fans are screwed for the next 25 years. I just hope I can outlive the day when Cal gives up ownership of the team. Who am I kidding, Easterby will be the new owner of the team after Cal.
This team has nothing to look forward to other than the draft. Only a few days out of the year where there's little excitement. Really wish the McNairs would sell.
GGG or that one that was posted in the hangout, Maria Ozawa. I mean I didn't hate it but the golden showers did nothing for me. I'll stick with American Bukakkes than you very much. What what? Detroit. St Louis? What's going on.
I've been trying to figure this obsession with the "Patriot's Way" approach that Cal, Jack and Nick are so fixated on for the Texans. Specifically, despite all the evidence that previous attempts to duplicate New England's success under Belichick have not worked elsewhere, they still remain steadfast on pursuing this strategy. I have realized that I was over thinking the situation because when I stepped back and looked at this from a less analytical POV, it suddenly made sense - in a Texans/Oilers sort of way. Specifically, they (Cal, Jack and Nick) believe that all they need do is simply duplicate the actions of the Patriots and that by doing so they will achieve the same results (championships). Why else would Cal and Jack flush $600K down the toilet, ignore the recommendations of the search committee and reach into the NE office to hire Caserio (who as NE Director of Player Personnel sat next to Bill B)? Why else would they constantly churn through players - releasing anyone who doesn't fit the mode of a Patriot's type of player? But most important of all, why this elevation of their perception of "culture" above everything else (including putting a winning football team on the field)? Because they consider themselves to be the smartest guys in the room. You have Cal and Jack focused on running this organization like a cult (Bob McNair ran it like a plantation) while Nick is totally immersed into doing things exactly as he saw Belichick do them. That's why I believe that they really want to hire Josh McCown because he checks all of the boxes on Cal & Jack's list but they don't have any idea how to navigate the bad publicity that's certain to ensue especially after the David Culley debacle (hire a guy with NO NFL coordinator or head coaching experience - WHAT could possibly go wrong???). I believe this is why Caserio is taking so long to find another head coach (to get fans all excited about...again) because that guy will be another placeholder head coach for at least two years until they (finally) hire the guy they've wanted all along. The key hire to watch will be for offensive coordinator. If it's McCown, then things will get very interesting...in about two years.
