with the E-draft comming up, i was thinking that we might stand a good chance of picking up an unprotected player. the TE might be very valuable to the bobcats. if we offer the TE and either pike or AG (whoever they were going to take) for a player we wanted, they would still come out of the draft with the same roster they wanted + the TE. my hope is that we trade for lorenzen wright. he fits under the TE, and more importantly he fits at PF. what a nice fit he would be at that. so what does everyone think our chances of a E-draft day trade are? and again more specifically, what are the chances CD/JVG realize that wright would be a great fit that could be had for pike/AG?
I think the expansion draft is going to be where the Rockets find their backup for Yao in case they trade Cato. Lo. Wright, Jahidi White, Ervin Johnson, Peja Drobjnak, and Loren Woods are all players I would be interested in. White, Johnson, and Wright are a little on the expensive side, but all have contracts that will end shortly.
Pistons left Elden Campbell unprotected. They've supposedly worked out a deal with Charlotte to take him too. The Lakers left Sampson, Rick Fox types. Nothing anyone would want.
Word is that he will opt out of his contract. I don't know if that affects his e-draft status, but he probably will be available this offseason.
DA reported on SC that Fisher could most likely resign with L.A. But he has opted out and is available. I think the Rox should pick up D-Fish no matter what trades go down. He is still a very good shooter and a pesky defender. He knows how to play with big stars, a dominant big guy and an offensive SG, and how to play off of them.
even though the thought of D-flopper playing for us makes me throw up in the back of my mouth a little....i will admit that he would be a good fit.
I have to second that as well. I dont like the player and he really irritates me but my head says that the things he is good at would compliment the team well if we have McGrady and Yao. One of those things where you might have to grin and bare it.
