Eh, it happens. Nothing new. TBH, Steve Francis’s all-star starts were a bit questionable back in the day also.
FWIW Green is not that far behind - and ahead of Wiggins for that matter - at number 4 if you just put him on the list by allowing 29MPG to be your "real minutes" limiter.
There's got to be a cutoff measure where someone who has his averages can't possibly qualify for starter. I was so sooo disappointed in TNT having to pander to the NBA praising his selection... Shaq gotta be dying inside while having to congratulate him.
Net rating is all about lineups, wasn’t currys net rating high last year when they missed the playoffs.
Can you imagine if you are KAT and you beat Wiggins in every statistical category and yet this fool somehow is considered an all-star starter?
It's just cause they didn't want to put 2 centers on there. Without that you can't really come up with a 3rd front court player. Really should just make it positionless so at least Luka or CP3 would be 5th.
I did misunderstand your point! Apologies. But I still think fatty Doncic should be listed as a guard given that is where he is named most nights. Perhaps the should just have the top 5 vote getters make the squad regardless of position, then let the coach choose the other positions. Nobody voted in HAS to start, so the coach can tweak the line-up (kind of their job, right?)
Everything about all of this is ****ing offensive. If they are going to let fans vote then the only voting options should be legitimate all star starter caliber players. This is ****ing disgusting.
Since Curry will keep winning fan vote until he retires (much like Kobe), the league isn’t going to continue allowing Doncic to get squeezed out of a starter nod. Next year they will remove the positional voting, or make it 2x2xWildcard
