Yes, I agree too. But well done versions are well done (which means not greasy).

Thanks to basketball, I found a better way to explain my statement:
All NBA starters are good or great players. So the 24th man in the all-star game is still a great player, like Zach LeVine or Nikola Vučević. However, a prime Lebron, Giannis or Harden can be considered 5x more valuable than even these all-stars.

I mean, they're all great, but some are extraordinary. While tastes, like style-of-play, is even more subjective, there are objective factors like ingredients and the culilnary effort that goes into fine details, like height-strength-vertical (physical traits) and signature skillsets are too.

I agree that the original ones seem to be devoid of unnecessary grease, just very crisp.

I've had Da Dong, 全聚德, and some higher end place that was 5 stars on dianping. It's just the dish man. It's the skin, it's like Beijing version of bacon, except it's from duck instead of pork. It's an decent food, I even want to eat it now and then, just find it over rated and prefer Shanghai dishes most days. You ever had Shanghai food? Clean, delicate, good food you crave all the time.

Food is subjective. Some parts don't like mustard on their burgers, to me mustard and onion are essential. Some people like beans in their Chili and some places that ruins the chili. Some people think pork is BBQ, some places it's a side dish to the brisket.

That said, still think the duck is overrated as a dish, not bad, just over rated.

In all honesty, I do prefer the Peking Duck over the Shanghai braised duck. But I would enjoy a xiaoshaoxing baizhan chicken over both dishes.

Lin had a good career for someone who was not a highly scouted undrafted player out of Harvard.

He can keep getting sponsorships in China after retirement

What a cry baby. Omg it never ends with this dude. To think I was actually a fan at one time. Look at how many players in the NBA have gotten covid. Do any of them whine like a Lil b*tch? It's hilarious how he can't even hang in the cba now.
