Yeah, I'm happy about the Rocs making the playoffs. I'm happy that Yao will be the next pillar, but man, I miss Dream. I was cleaning out my garage and stumbled onto a box of tapes. I first thought it was probably a secret stash of p*rn I forgot abou,t but turns out they were a collection of games I recorded from 94 Finals to the 98 season. So I stuck one in and it happened to be a game against the Spurs in '96. Dream had an "average" game with 27 points and 13 rebounds, but the way he moved was art. It was really art. Each juke, each spin, each headfake... he pulled out specialites like they were normal. My girlfriend even remarked, "Oh man, I remember he was quick but not that quick." And that's what it's been like for me, reviewing these tapes all night. "I remember he was that (fill in the blank) but not that (fill in the blank)." Man, I remember being so angry at Dream for being so washed up in 2000 but after watching some of the games, his defense was always there. I guess I kept remembering Dream for his sweet moves than his impeccable D. I'm going to try to preserve these tapes and if or when I get married on of these days, show my kids the real deal.
I've been wondering who would win the Miss Dream pagent this year. Thanks for bringing it up...uh, oh...sorry.
man, i would gladly send you some money for a dvd copy of those!!! let me know if you are interested....
My girlfriend just got her dad one of those tape to DVD recorders for Father's Day, so.... guess I'll have to visit the inlaws more often. When I do get those tapes converted, I'll be happy to share with you guys. I found a real gem: '92 Bulls vs. Rocs, Hakeem gets a game winning block against Jordan at the buzzer.
DreamMachine34 I'd love to know what you recorded. I have a ton of old rockets games on tape. i'll e-mail you thru the board if it allows me.
