A huge star like Westbrook would probably sell out the arena -- like Jordan in his prime.

    This timeline just ain’t it

This is the bad alternative reality we’re living. In the good one Les didn’t sell, CPs hammy stayed intact, Rockets went back 2 back and are credited for destroying Warriors dynasty, Morey/Harden/CP retire as Rocket legends, Bill Worrell gets stem cell treatments and keeps calling games till 90, and Hakeem, Yao & Dikembe prevent Covid while on a basketball without borders trip.

Theres no telling, could easily be high lottery. Their new front office's talent scouting is poor and pretty much everyone is 35. There's always a possibility that Lebron jumps somewhere else to groom himself and his image, too.

What’s the earliest FRP they can trade? 2026? Stone should take it in a heartbeat. I am intrigued by THT too.

Can someone explain why LA would do this? Is Wall really worth a 1st round pick instead of the Lakers just buying out Westbrook?

Wall hasn’t played a single minute this season and is still more valuable than Westbrick….

You'd have to imagine John Wall is better than 45 million dollars of dead money.

The Rockets don't care, we're sitting Wall right now. Meanwhile LeBron is 37 and officially injury prone. They don't have time to wait for Russ to come off the books.

LeBron doesn’t care about the future. He wants to win now.

You guys are going to jinx it. A trade has not been made. No one else is trading for Wall, seems like the only team pondering it is the Lakers, but we will see how much they value their future over this season. At least Wall can still dribble and hit a shot.

So giving up a 1st and getting Wall is better than just buying out Westbrook themselves? If Westbrook would accept a buyout from the Rockets then why wouldn't he accept one from the Lakers? Now if he won't accept a buyout then it makes some sort of sense I guess.

I wouldn't do it unless they throw in Dwight, Melo, and Ariza as sweeteners.

The funny thing is, the same can be said about Westbrook and the Rockets.

Unless WB retiring, I wouldn't count on a buyout from anybody... His career would be officially over... A good team wouldn't dare bring him in for any amount of $.. A young team wouldn't nor shouldnt.. A pathetic team shouldn't touch him unless they want to make a few extra $ ... What o what would WB do with himself.. Big 3?

    For a first, yes.

Westbrook thinks he has champ opportunity in LA so no buyout. He would consider one here. Wall ain't budging. Westbrook has endorsements so he needs to stay active. Stone would be a genius getting a 1st rd pick each time he flipped these dudes.

Not excited about getting Westbrook back, unless the Lakers threw in some some serious "sweeteners."

The Lakers are trying to get a player to help them this year with that cap space. A buyout wouldn’t get them anything (whatever WB gives up wouldn’t be massive plus they are way over the cap anyway). For the Rox, a buyout and wasted cap space is the same as paying and not playing Wall. So LA certainly wouldn’t buyout a max contract, but Houston certainly would if the discount/draft compensation were right.
