Would he have developed in Spain, or would he just do the same things he was being asked to do and playing limited minutes?

Why would playing in Spain be better than playing in the same system he would be playing in the G league?

I thought the lower teams were where players develop in the euro league, and you pretty much had a role while on the big club.

While he is up on the Rockets, he gets more individual hands-on training and gets to see players doing it in a more team oriented setting.

We see how Brooks and JC earned playing time, but now they are doing it wrong with this guy?

So you think all successful coaches were successful players?

    Really?

sorry but that's just flat wrong.

Along with the myth of magic euro team ball being an equalizer....just because you say so.... the myth of "g league numbers are inflated because they don't play defense" has also been debunked before.

The off/def efficiency of the gleague was within 1 point of the NBA, it's was 108 to 109 last time i checked.

G league, as a feeder league to the NBA, run NBA team sets and defenses, as you'd expect.

Sure, those G league teams would get destroyed by NBA teams running those same sets, but if Real Madrid set foot in McAllen, good luck to 37 year old Rudy Fernandez or Edy Tavares or the rest of the old and slow GLeague cast offs that populate European leagues. They'd be asking KPJ to drive down at halftime and pick them up an inhaler in Reynoso.

No....but if they sucked as a player barely scoring 2.0 points per game, then they probably suck on teaching what they have learned. I question if he learned anything.

    This makes zero sense.

Most great coaches sucked at higher level basketball.

Have you never heard the phrase those who can't teach?

Steve Kerr averaged 6 ppg in the NBA, so he must be a terrible coach.

Nah, european league, and particularly the Spanish ACB - is all about Teamball, no room for low-skill, Ray Lewis-with-a-basketball types

I need to try to ignore threads that have the words "miss" or "experiment" in the title.

Could you imagine if a kid's future was decided upon their performance in their first month of class?

Garuba is a project that will take time. He is a hustle player right now that needs to develop his basketball skills and get used to NBA speed. After the deadline (if we move certain pieces) he may start getting more consistent time. There is no rush on him, he projects to be a solid role player for defense and rebounding. Gotta have a couple of those guys on the roster too.

yep the only thing worse is their future being decided on how high they were picked

What if their entire future was determined by a single test score?
