But I thought we already have 3 franchise centerpieces. Green is the next Kobe. KPJ is the next Harden. Sengun is the next Jokic.

I agree, I wanted Green too but I think it's going to take longer than most anticipated. And that's my issue with DRAFT PICKS. The draft is a crap shoot for one but most players are young and they're going to need time to develop.

While true, Ja spent an extra year in college. I think it's reasonable to expect Green to put up similar numbers to Ja's rookie season next season when he's 20.

Yup, at this rate I’d be very happy with a Zach Lavine type of progression but even that’s not guaranteed. I don’t have any crazy expectations or comparisons for Jalen Green for the next 3 years. I feel like that’s setting yourself up to be disappointed. I just want to see steady improvements in his overall game. It’s going to take time… he’s a project.

The flashes of brilliance is shown every night. You see the speed, quickness, and no fear attacking the rim. He just needs to use his body and finish in the paint better as well as his three point shooting. I’m not sure why he hasn’t been given the reigns to run this offense and instead everything runs through KPJ unfortunately. Likely a mixture of coaching and his own reluctance. There’s no doubt the guy can play. We all are waiting for him to break out. Question is when?

Well, duh. We're looking for a 4th one. We need 5 to field a starting line-up. Pretty soon we'll be looking for a 5th one!

That’s speaking as a Rockets fan so of course you’re being optimistic but imagine if you weren’t and looked at it from a purely objective matter. Jalen Green was the consensus “Most NBA Ready” draft choice across the boards since he was already playing with professionals. Not only was that the general consensus around here but that’s what actual scouts/GM’s thought as well.

It would be a huge jump to get to 18/7/4 on 48% shooting by next year. He’s completely different from Ja anyways so it was a bad comparison to begin with. There’s no way Jalen puts up 7 assists in his career (ever) especially not in the next 3 years. A 9% increase in his FG% is a massive jump. I would try to enjoy the growth and temper expectations.

Some folks literally have no patience whatsoever when it comes to green.
The season is like halfway done and we have folks sad that green stat is no where near a certain player rookie year. Why are u comparing green right now to rookie averages that is obtained after a full season?
Folks already making a thread wondering if he is in the bust category.

Spoiled with Harden greatness for so long, no patience whatsoever.

The weird ass thing is these folks have the patience of a Saint when it comes to a development of kpj, a 3rd year vet learning how to play point guard.

Disappointed that he wasn't as good as advertised when drafted is one thing, wondering or believing he's a bust b4 the season isn't even over is just impatience.

Green is never going to average 7 assists in his career, in any season. So no.

I meant more along the lines of points. Obviously Green won’t average 7 assists, but I could see him average 20 ppg next season.

20 points is possible. But those assists and running the team is a big part of Morant’s value.

I might take that bet but if his career is as long as Paul or LBJ, there's a decent chance I wouldn't be around to collect or pay up.

I will admit that Morant comparison, which gets thrown around a lot, has also confused me a little. Green seems much more in the Zavine, Booker, etc. mold than Ja IMO.

i dont think I’ve ever seen him compared to Ja before lol…??

The comps you threw out are much better. A Ja type is the kind of PG id love to have next to him.

Why did I have to see CP3 do what he did tonight?

sengun is already MUCH MUCH better than both green and kpj and closer to jokic than these 2 will ever be to kobe and harden...green is not even on corey brewer level yet let alone kobe hahahahah...

sengun is already near jokic level of play.... he just needs playing time, a normal coach and a normal team....sengun is already an elite player...no doubt about it...rockets had to bench him and hold him back to preserve the tank...

we have sengun hes that type of player...just needs playing time... in a couple of years we will be mourning upon sengun performances just like we do upon cp3 now...

but no you gotta give playing time and every freakin opportunity to guys throwing soups around featuring great haircuts and nail polish doing fancy dribbles and pretty dunks...
you dont have to tank just gotta be smart.. cant do dumb stuff all the time and expect results....cant punish the hustle and reward the laziness and expect greatness
