Diff is Edwards was built like a tank. Green is built more like Zach Lavine. IMO JC and KPJ are more similar to Ant than Green. Both of them csn barrel in the line and can be extremy physical in the paint.
Good on you for making a bold prediction, it's so easy to be cautious. It's in spite of more than that. It's in spite of having no strength at the basket, just now learning how to score over/around good big men and most of all he is still being trained like a Klay Thompson to not be useless without the ball in his hands. I really can't understand how he is getting so many FT's with all that going on. Plus his friendship with KPJ makes it so that KPJ doesn't worry about missing Jalen when he's open. Passing I have 0 worries about, I bet we will be nagging him to pass off less often in the near future. He seems like such an unselfish kid, which is refreshing. His 3pt shot is going to be gold, that I have a totally irrational instinct about.
Well, he better srike up a friendship with Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley then, because KPJ is just not the right guy to lean on IMHO. I am all for players having all kind of friends, but the NBA is ultra competitive hence he should make friends that could be stars in this league.
More problems with Jalen! Isn't it amazing he's going to be a star even though some people think he has a small head, shoulders, miniature wingspan, short, not that athletic, doesn't know who to surround himself with, can't shoot, doesn't get minutes, Christian Wood flexing during losses, Silas being the worst coach to have ever coached, etc etc Hell, why follow this story? He's a guaranteed bust from this perspective. Story's over. No reason to keep being worried. Do you treat yourself this way as well? Other than his first step, what are your favorite things about Jalen?
Well, he has a small head, and he is not going to change that hahaha. On a serious note, I was talking about KPJ though, isn't it a concidence that Kevin Porter played better since his so called tantrum leaving the arena? While Jalen Green got worse stats in the meantime. While this so called friendship might thrive, one will always be better than the other on the stat sheet.
I don't know about that. If Jalen keeps improving off ball and KPJ keeps improving on ball, their paths will connect eventually. It just might take too long. Anyway. What are your favorite things about Jalen other than his first step? You're in here talking about him all the time, so you must not think he;s a sure-fire bust despite the statements indicating so. What do you like about him, what's keeping you watching him so closely?
I am in here for you mostly, you might think I hate your takes or something but I actually enjoyed replying to you. I like this franchise, even if I am not a fan of Shooting guards, I do think he got some great redeeming qualities. I think unlike James Harden, he is not a ball hawk, he might never get to Harden's level though.
Thanks I appreciate that but to be honest, I never thought you're annoyed with me. You seem to be annoyed with your own statements more than anything. So what do you mean he is not a ball hawk? What does he do well there?
Jalen is still a long way from being even a solid starter right now. That said, I like what I saw after he came back from injuries. Even when he has good games where everyone said he needs to be the main facilitator and why were freezing him out... I actually like the fact that he wasn't taking on all the pressure and pushing things (which he did pre injury).
Reasonable grade. With mobley mob on Green ass all the time, with labeles like worst defender of the league, feminine, bust, streaky. U figured he's an F. When watching games, yea Green isn't lighting it up every game, but I appreciate the effort he takes to b better and it shows.
Wth? He's taking 3's and layups and needs to keep working on both, past this season. Why on earth would he take anything in between? We saw his mid range game early in the season, it's just as atrocious and brings down the whole team's efficiency including his own. A floater shot down the line will be useful, but he will be overwhelmed if he does everything at once. He's also trying to build muscle in the middle of this. Just be patient guys, no one's career didn't work out because they couldn't hit a mid range shot. There are graveyards of people who got cut from the NBA forever for not being able to hit 3's or layups. Priorities.
I am not annoyed, I have little patience, the Rockets are still waiting for their first Finals appearance in like 20+ years. To the Green question, I do not feel Green has progressed to the point that I could talk what he really does well, he had some good games and some bad games. It is just refreshing to watch someone other than Harden controlling the ball all the time.
There is a difference between hope/patience and denial of reality. I'm afraid that there is a bit too much of patting ourselves on the back for our supposed hope and patience when there is actually a little more of the latter going on.
To evaluate green you don't look at makes or misses, you look at the types of shots he is taking. He is getting into the lane more, which is encouraging. yesterday he faced Gobert which is a challenge for everyone. I don't see a rock solid mid-range game from him so he shouldn't force those shots up unless he can hit them at a high clip. He needs to make a living in the paint finishing over defenders and getting to the line. That is how he is going to become a 25 PPG scorer.
Remember when people said Ingram is a bust? Its just a matter of work and time. Jalen has something you cant teach or learn - top3 first step and hangtime
