Now THAT was more fun. I do wish we would stop running everything in the 4th through Christian Wood, though. He's more of a finisher than a creator in my book. Love that Green was able to do stuff other than scoring--his quickness (and frame) helps him get through screens and he had a pretty big offensive board to essentially seal the game. I would've liked to see him get more shots on a night that he was shooting well, but he does need to demand the ball more. Al-P is a little rusty, I think, but the team is infinitely more fun to watch when he's in the game. All I care about is for our young guys to keep developing. This was a good game...now let's string together a couple of solid ones
Plot twist: Jalen Green shaves his head and immediately turns into Michael Jordan. ...and simultaneously breaks the hearts of about 250,000 teenagers
he was -1 on the game. He had 2 turnovers in the last 6 minutes. The offense was ATROCIOUS the last 6 minutes. the only success was when he hit that 3 or EG was able to operate one on one. I like how KPJ is playing lately… but not how he’s operating the team.
That +/- is very deceiving as he played by far the most minutes (36)...coming back in early. Again, this move by Silas had a lot to do with us winning tonight...stemming the tide when needed. 23/7/4/2 5-9 3pt... Maybe they slide him over and play the three, but the jury's still out on what's goin down. He wouldn't have to THINK as much out there and just let the game come to him naturally. If you had a TEAM committed to playing defense like he is... And, his shot (mechanics) LOOKS better the last several games... He seems very fockassed.
Gordon played 32 minutes, and had a +/- of 26. I honestly think KPJ should have given the ball to Gordon to operate. KPJ would look a lot better if he was a 3, acting as a secondary ball handler and playmaker. I just don't see enough from KPJ in terms of court vision to be convinced he can run the PG position full time, especially with all the turnovers.
I dont understand the stem the tide comment. In the 4th the team was up by 5 (effectively 6 with Mathews shooting a free throw) when he came back in the game. They got up by 8 shortly after but then the horrendous offense let the lead slip to 1. and it was horrendous offense. If you were watching the Rockets feed Hollins literally tongue in cheek said at one point down the stretch they’d be better throwing the ball in the stands instead of turning it over the way they were. don’t get me wrong… I would love KPJ to keep “this” up if this is him thinking less, trying to be a PG less, and just attacking or moving it on. don’t get me wrong… it’s not like CWood makes sense as a go to option down the stretch. don’t get me wrong… they don’t have an alternative really - I’d be fine with EG running more PG cause I’d like to at least see KPJ more at SF but do get me right. Unquestionably… if you’ve been watching every game as I know you and many have like me, KPJ is looking his best now PRECISELY when he’s not trying to be a PG and operate a team but instead just play aggressively. also, do get me right, it’s pretty embarrassing that no one on the team, and especially the PG, can execute the big man PnR that results with the big getting a flush on a dunk. You know the Harden patented play. I’m not sure how they can be SO bad at it. They miss it when it’s open. They attempt it when it’s not open and they should go for the floater instead. Even when they do attempt it it’s like 3 feet behind. This is somewhat anecdotal and single playish… but speaks to the point of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It’s not “natural”. I mean Alpi had a crapton of turnovers tonight in limited minutes so it’s not just the turnovers. Alpi has that passing ability naturally and there’s just no question about it. So when you’re trying to nurture that with him it’s about getting better at whole limiting turnovers, not doing that and also trying to improve just instinctual court vision. just my two cents.
Yes this exactly. There’s the possibility that KPJ could be an incredible 3 just as much - and at this point more - than him likely being an incredible one.
Can’t believe we lost to these guys and barely beat them tonight. They were down 268-1 at the half vs the Nets! Yao was on TNT to discuss the state of the Kings org.
Ive been saying he should be a 3 for awhile now. People like DD saw it as hate but its clear that that is what he is. He hurts the team and Jalens development by bringing the ball up.
Wow we are so bad. Lots of their starters out and we still barely beat them. What a waste of a loss for draft position. It was like both teams were like, “You win it. No you win it.” Poor Eric Gordon playing with these guys. Hope he gets traded soon.
