Remember when we said our team was set when the Rockets drafted Griffin!

    Francis
    Mobley
    Morris
    Griffin
    Cato

That was going to be the team that won our next championship; well, so a lot of you (including myself) thought.

Griffin and Morris are gone. Now Francis, Mobley, and Cato are going to follow.

McGrady and Yao are going to be our new core. Be it a much more realistic core. Francis is just not that good of a point guard (turnovers from your point guard is unacceptable), Mobley is undersized at the shooting guard, Cato is offensively challenged.

It shows how fans tend to overrate their players.
Sometimes I think Francis' turnover isn't that annoying. Kobe and
Kidd also have a lot of turnovers. What annoys me most is that
Rox as a team definitely has too many turnovers. I am not sure
trading Francis can significantly cut down that.

Solid starter for Columbus in NBDL.

Morris turned out to be garbage, just like I said he was. He plays in the NBDL with the rest of the guys who can't cut it in the big league.

I'm a pretty recent fan (2 seasons) but I know all of those players and no offense but how could people think that that was going to be a great team.

Eddie was projected to be a combination of Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett when he fully developed.

At the time, Steve was seen as one of the league's top PGs and still improving.

Cato has always been an athletic beast, consistency and heart were the only questions.

Cat was an explosive young scorer who could play decent defense and outquick nearly any two guard in the league.

Morris was overrated. In his freshman season at Maryland, he was projected to be drafted in the lottery based on his potential. He chose to stay in school and showed zero improvement over the next few seasons.

It looked like a very promising young core for the future.

Does any one think that Yao Ming messed every thing up because no one critizied Steve and Mobley back then before they got Yao Ming

I personally liked TMo a lot, but I can only remember one good game he had with us that was of any significance, it was against the Spurs last season when we were down by like, 15 in the fourth quarter and when Rudy pulled the starters Maurice was hitting hooks, Cato was all over the glass and Terrence hit about 7 jumpers in a row without a miss.

We still ended up losing the game.

Just a gut feeling, but I suspect that either Steve or Cat will remain a Rocket.

FREDTERP and TMo certainly thought he would be our SF of the future.

WTF are you talking about? If I was trying to be an NBA player I would be worse than garbage, I would be like radioactive waste that needs to be sealed in drums and buried in old salt mines for 50,000 years. That doesn't mean I can't tell when someone else is garbage. Obviously just about every Gm in the league agrees with me because TMo is in the NBDL. If he were a real player, and not garbage, then he would be in the NBA like such superstars as Mark Pope, Rodney Buford, and Ruben Boumtje Boumtje.

I don't think anyone pegged Terrance Morris to be our starting 3. But yeah, we had so much potential when we drafted EG. I wasn't expecting immediate results, but I was expecting Eddie to score down low, not jack up 3s.
