That's a weird strategy. Using throwaway picks at your position of highest importance and need.

Also, "high" pick is subjective. What is high to you?

Define "a chance". Drafting a QB this coming year would not preclude Mills from anything. He earned the opportunity to solidify his position as the QB of the future, similarly, that opportunity can go horribly wrong and I want someone ready to step in should Mills not be that guy going forward.

How could you see what he can do it with a real team, if you keep picking a QB every draft?, another QB is not going to help him, I would prefer them to draft a RB or WR, with the 2nd, 3rd or 4th rond pick, that wasting those picks with another QB, who might just sitting on the bench.
I could see the packers going to the superbowl last year that instead of drafting Jordan Love the packers would have drafted Tee Higgins, or Justin Jefferson to give another weapon to Rodgers, that WR duo would be amazing, Adams and Justin Jefferson.

Another example: The Browns kept drafting QBs, year after year, and the were still in bottom of the NFL, where they find a good but not great QB in Baker, they started drafting other pieces, instead of wasting those high picks with other QB.

This is a problematic way of looking at things becahse the Texans probably won't be a "real team" next year either. And maybe even the year after that lulz.

I think you can grade on a curve and have a good idea about whether someone should keep a job after one year, and usually you will have a good idea whether they are a permanent solution after two.

Top 100 picks in this years draft. Of course other than Strong I'm really dont like any of these QB's that much and I'm not in the Strong is a rd. 1 QB.

Use the top 100 picks (The Texans currently have 4 of these) to put weapons around Mills and see what you've got. If you dont like what you see from Mills next year, then go QB hunting for a QB in the 2023 draft. This way the 2023 QB will have weapons to work with.

So do you think Mills has a chance after seeing him play this yr with few weapons around him could be the future? If no, then why?

I've been clear that I think he deserves to start day 1 next year and it's his job until he proves otherwise.

Draft more qbs or grab them via off season. Mills can compete against those peep in the training camp. Honestly his job 2 lose.

Looking at it, we really have no choice but to load up on QBs anyway because legit everyone else on the roster is almost certainly gone.

If Taylor wants to come back, I'm leaning more toward saying no thanks. The absolute best he's going to give us is keeping some wildcard berth hope alive longer than it should be (and probably inevitably collapsing).

I'm not interested in keeping a .500 team afloat. Everybody who laces them up for us, outside of Tunsil, should be a project/investment that has upside. Hell, we should even try shipping out Cooks to a contender who needs help at WR.

I thought Taylor was already signed for next season? Didn't they sign him for 2 years on his contract?

Yeah it was effectively 5MM because it was so bonus heavy. If I thought it was 12M outright I'd guess it would have to be multiple years too.

People watching the playoffs today and realizing their qb situation just isn’t good enough. That’s good for the Texans.

It is good for Watson's stock. There are truly only 5 to 8 qbs in the league that can lead a team to a Super Bowl right now. QB play is just too crucial and too good.

If we can benefit from tonight, great. But Watson isn’t Mahomes or Allen
