This is brilliant and I love Rush!
I can personally attest to how effective of a birth control device this part is.
"Some women report feeling incredibly uncool. You may develop medium-to-severe irritation when your male sexual partner gives an impassioned ten-minute speech on how Neil Peart was the greatest percussionist in human history."

Give her a zero on originality. The narrative that Rush is predominantly a mens’ group has been around almost as long as the band. Most women were dragged to the shows by their significant others only to squirm and gasp for three hours in uncomfortableness. This could even be considered a form of torture.

Seems like a good place to post this gem. No idea how I've never seen this before the last few days, but yeah....suffice to say the guy in white is basically me in the car whenever Tom Sawyer comes on. Just ask my family.

Did you see the video of the white guy with glasses playing every song Rush ever made on drums. I think he did it all in one take and it was like 24 minutes long. It was like a medley where he played a small part of each song from the first album to last album. That dude has chops, man. He should take over for Neil. ;)

The bolded is surprising - I know my mom loved Time Out and I managed to be conceived. Then again, she never had a copy of it among the vinyl collection so perhaps her claim was a ruse.

I was on a date and had it on in my car. She said "can we stop playing the smooth jazz".

Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis were contemporaries but I don't think "Blue Rondo Ala Turk" is the panty dropper as "Some Kind of Blue"

Also don't Chick Corea doesn't get it done. Or more importantly talking about Chick Corea and Dave Brubeck doesn't get it done.

Rush, Steely Dan...nothing wrong with either it's just about as exciting as an Alabama/Georgia championship game.

I've seen that. Hey, if it worked for Journey's lead singer...why not?

You seem to have a lot of experience... with blaming music for romantic misses. ;)

Never cared that my wife didn't like Rush, or Zappa, or Primus, or Pantera, or GWAR or any of the other hundreds of bands I saw in concert. Kept me from having to buy her a ticket and protect her in the pit. Easier to make it up front if you don't have a woman who doesn't like crowds keeping you in the back where it's not asses to elbows.
