Heck yeah I'd do it. These guys aren't stars, nor are they even good role players. B-list at best. Bring in the T-Mac and surround him with quality.

If we're talking Steve/Cat/Cato for, say, McGrady and Howard, with the idea of dealing Howard for a backup center or some such player....yes.

I said no, but I guess it depends on who the throw ins are...

    T-Mac + Gooden + Gaines, I'd do it...

Well, Mo isn't a great PF but he's still there.

We would wind up with Howard in the deal, I'm sure, because Orlando would look like this:

Steve, Cat, Gaines?, Okafor, Cato, Gooden, DeClerq.

PG for us? Brent Barry, maybe?

If the throw-ins are some combo of Gooden/Howard and Lue/Gaines, then yes.

Would probly do the deal with even just Gooden/Howard.

Yes I would do it. No hesitation. Of course I am building for the long term. If it depletes our depth for one year I am willing to take that hit for MANY years of being a good team. Role players can be had via MLE and draft picks each year. And with T-Mac and Yao as the foundation we will become a desirable location for role players. It is a no brainer!

I really think anyone that doesnt like that deal is looking at the short term rather than the long term.

    So would you?

    I'm in. . . .

    Rocket River
I figure yea . . since McGrady is taller than Mobes and Francis
    but
he not as tall as Cato . . so hee DaDakota rule maybe muddied a bit

But he is taller than Steve and Cat...

    And the rule is..

When trading players of equal talent, always take the taller player.

    So it still applies.

I would do the deal, even if we had to take on Grant Hill's contract.

I would rather get the number one pick. Then look to deal others elsewhere.

Just to satisfy UTWeezer and TheCabbage, I'd quickly forget Cato and Cat if this went down:

    Francis/Mobley/Cato

    for

    McGrady/Howard/Lue or McGrady/Gooden/Lue

I think we would be paying too much. McGrady has the Magic over a barrel. Why are teams offering them so much when they can wait a year and have a shot at him for nothing. Orlando is in no position to be making outrageous demands. they should be lucky to get mobley and cato, mcG. can leave them high and dry next year.

they had better remember Shaq and what they got for him. Play hard ball CD, dont break the bank for one player.

I want Gooden over Howard, beeeeeg time.

Don't really care about Lue/Gaines, should be able to pick up a PG somewhere else.

    TMac+Gooden+Lue/Gaines I do in a heartbeat.

I would take Earl Boykins as my PG. He's only 5'10 and can run w/ the best.

Put me down for "not yet."

I wanna see if we can throw in MoT instead of Cato, and I want specifics on who else the Rockets get in return.

Id want gooden instead of Howard since goodens contract is shorter and cheaper. Id either trade away gooden or put him on the bench.
