Yep The Memphis Grizzlies will unveil their new uniforms Thursday (6/17). Followed by the Utah Jazz next Thursday at a draft party. Followed then by the "hip-hop inspired" Kevlar-rumored Bobcat's set tenatively scheduled for the same day. The Mavs are also planning on showing off the "Puffy" designed alternates. Early word is to expect a retro look. Then Indy will be on the clock for identity changes next season.
I talked to a Griz rep today who mentioned that the Celtics were coming out with an alternate uniform (using some black) as well (which probably is old news). I mentioned that Utah was also coming out with two blues in their color scheme. He said that the Grizzlies had their three blue color scheme set at the time that Denver unveiled their new look last year, so it was really sort of bad luck that Denver and Utah ended up using blue. He also noted that Washington, Orlando and Dallas all had similar blue colors, but that they clearly were distinguishable, so the Griz weren't too uptight about looking like other teams.
I really don't see why the Grizz are messing with their colors. I don't think their current look is bad at all. Jazz have never had good uniforms. Didn't the Mavs have those horrendous "shiny" alternates last year? Can a team introduce a new alternate every year?
OK, I will find the uniform pic. just gimme a second... OR "Not now, Lumbergh... I'm BUSY... can you come back later...?" - Peter
The Memphis Grizzlies new home uniform is white, with Smoke Blue, Memphis Midnight Blue, Beale Street Blue and Grizzlies Gold trim, with the word “Grizzlies” emblazoned across the front and the Grizzlies’ logo on the lower left leg of the shorts. The Grizzlies’ new road uniform has a base color of Memphis Midnight Blue, with Smoke Blue and Grizzlies Gold Trim, with the word “Memphis” emblazoned across the front and the Grizzlies’ logo on the lower left leg of the shorts. Manufactured by Reebok, the uniforms employ Reebok Play Dry technology, a unique technology which directs the players' sweat away from their bodies. The design allows for maximum movement and is lightweight for optimum performance.
Well from what I can see, the home white jerseys look similar to the old Cavs jerseys. I dont think much of an improvement AT ALL! However from what I can see on the away jerseys with Gasol, I like what I see so far. Remains to be see on the away jersey.
I am seized in the grip of a high-octane fervor of complete indifference to the Grizzlies' new uniforms.
James Posey says: this jersey blows Pau Gasol says: Back home, men who wear awful attire like this would get stampeded on by the bulls with that being said, i actually like their colors...kinda reminds me of the WNBA washington mystics
Kinda funny that they didnt have Posey and that other guys jerseys made so they wore Pau's number 16.
I like them, i think theyre better than the old ones. Although I dont like the font of the numbers and letters.
I like them! I even like there new site, I wish the Rockets would update their site to something more professional looking.. The best NBA site has to be the twolves, I like the Grizzles site too
Good Call, Drexlerfan22. I thought they look very much simliar to the old Cavs jerseys. I'm not that impressed.
